Will Congress Get Tough on Illegals?
by Jeff Davis

Not so long ago, as recently as a few years ago in fact, any public discussion of unlimited Third World immigration into this country was completely taboo. The 10,000-pound elephant in America’s parlor has grown and befouled its surroundings to the point where it can no longer be ignored, and at long last the tyrannized American people are speaking up in protest against the land of their birth being turned into a province of Mexico.
Congress is now considering bills that would make it a felony to be in the United States illegally, impose new and meaningful penalties on employers who hire illegal immigrants (finally!) and erect fences along one-third of the U.S.-Mexican border. One third is only one third, but at least it’s a start. (Perhaps we should consult Israel; they’re good at building walls.) The governor of Arizona has been prodded into ordering National Guardsmen to the Mexican border. Right-wing talk show hosts like Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are now overrun with callers and e-mails and guests who speak openly of the problems which are caused by illegals. The membership of the left-wing Sierra Club has pushed repeatedly for a rank and file vote on the illegal problem which is an undeniable threat to the environment.
The massive influx of unassimilable, barely literate and non-English speaking immigrants will steadily change America into a Third World nation. The American health care system is already on the verge of collapse in several places like Texas and California. There simply is no way any kind of quality health care could survive the arrival of tens of millions of new Third Worlders. In one example in California an American parent (with full insurance) with a child who needed emergency treatment had to wait behind a long line of Mexicans in an emergency room. The illegal aliens simply use our emergency rooms as their all purpose health clinics. One of the Mexicans tying up the emergency room was there because she was constipated!
Any attempt to control energy imports and find alternative sources of energy would collapse under the weight of the locust-like invasion which is stripping the continent of natural resources. The United States would shift from being a net food exporter to an importer. The over-consumption of water resources by Mexicans alone has already turned the once mighty Rio Grande into a trickling, stinking open-air sewer and the water table in the Southwest has been depleted possibly beyond recovery. The magnitude of the immigration disaster is overwhelming and mind-boggling, its implications reach beyond what we can foresee.
Ordinary Americans don’t want ANY immigration from the Third World whether legal or illegal. Some of our politicians (especially the ones in Congress seeking reelection) seem to be getting the message. Jimmy Carter gave an amnesty back in the 1970s. The last amnesty came in 1995 under Bill Clinton. In the last eleven years, 12 to 20 million new illegals have snuck in. If Bush and the Open Borders crowd in DC get their way and give out another amnesty, the flood of illegals will turn into a tidal wave.
Instead of 20 million illegals, ONE HUNDRED MILLION will sneak in over the next eleven years. There are six billion people in the Third World and they’re paying attention to how the latest amnesty battle turns out. One hundred million is less than two percent of the Third World’s population, but it’s enough to turn all of America into a gigantic version of Tiajuana.
