Tell Ron Paul to Run Nation-Wide Ads Now!!!
by James Buchanan
I’ve been trying to tell the Ron Paul campaign to run some nation-wide ads as soon as possible so that he will expand his base. I have gone out of my way to explain all the logic behind this in earlier articles, but apparently logic and reason didn’t have enough influence. Now his latest fund-raising effort is falling badly short of his stated goal to raise 12 million in the fourth quarter.
And twelve million is really not much of a campaign fund considering that Hillary and Obama have raised several times that much. Ron Paul desperately needs to expand his base as soon as possible. And the only way to do that is to run nation-wide ads, which he has so far stubbornly refused to do.
While I have failed to persuade the Ron Paul campaign, maybe you readers can succeed at changing his mind. If you agree that the Ron Paul campaign needs to reach out to lots of new people, then call up his campaign staff (at 703-248-9115) and demand that he start running nation-wide ads now. Tell them that you won’t donate another penny until you see that first national commercial (and local ads in New Hampshire or Iowa don’t count). Only a national ad will convince you that he’s serious about winning this race. Tell them that he needs to expand his base and to stop preaching to the same Internet choir over and over.
The Ron Paul campaign has been running some ads in New Hampshire and other small states. This is ridiculous!!!!! There are 300 million people in America. Run ads that will play in California, where the anti-war vote could win Ron Paul the biggest state in the union and where there are quite a few wealthy individuals who would be highly sympathetic if they only knew Ron Paul existed.
Ron Paul just raised one million dollars in a little over 16 days. That means he’s headed for about six million in three months. which would be only one million more than he got last quarter. He may be able to get up to seven million with a last week fund drive. Too bad he keeps asking the same people for donations when he should be expanding his base.
My big question to the Ron Paul campaign staff is:
What did you expect? You didn’t buy any nation-wide commercials and you’ve wasted 16 valuable days preaching to the choir. Why should your donations improve much from last quarter? Buy those nation-wide commercials now while you still have time!!!! Whoever decided to NOT spend money on nation-wide ads was WRONG. How long are you going to continue making that potentially fatal mistake?
This isn’t a Congressional race, where you can go door-to-door. Ron Paul has to reach 300 million people and you can’t rely on the enemy media to present you fairly to the American public.
Every single news story about Ron Paul will have the following statement tagged on it that: “Despite having an enthusiastic following, Ron Paul has only one-to-three percent support in the polls (so his whole presidential campaign is nothing more than a circus side show that all Americans should ignore).”
Ron Paul needs to take some of the five million from last quarter, buy some nation-wide commercials AND pay a pollster to see how much his numbers change. I’ve been watching politics my whole life and I am one hundred percent certain that Ron Paul would shoot up to at least 15 percent in almost no time if he just ran nation-wide ads.
That’s the only way he can escape the curse of the “one to three percent in the polls.” This snide mainstream media put down is doing tremendous damage and convincing many people that only Thompson, Romney, McCain and Giuliani stand a chance of winning.
Please call the Ron Paul campaign at the number below and ask them to run some nation-wide commercials before it’s too late. Maybe they’ll listen if enough people call:
