Stunning Incompetence: 3rd World Engineers

There is an illusion that Indian and Middle Eastern foreigners allowed in the US are -at least- competent in whatever scientific field they claim to know. Nothing could be further from the truth. Modern-day management wants cheap engineers, not good ones. Sometimes management will hire one or two good American engineers and then “supplement” the work force with several cheap Third Worlders. The Third World engineers frequently ask for less pay and so they get hired before White American engineers. The truth is they aren’t even worth the reduced salaries. Often, White engineers are only hired after months of blundering by an Indian or Pakistani. Sometimes a company just refuses to admit its Third World engineers are no good, and it begins a long downward slide to incompetence and bankruptcy.

Here are just a few engineer horror stories of Third World incompetence at US corporations:

The Lying Bangladeshi

One company had a wide range of engineers both bad and good. One American engineer who was excellent at what he did was increasingly badgered by a Bangladeshi. The Third World engineer had bragged that he was a top graduate of a “great” university in Bangladesh. The American engineer eventually had to explain that he was there to do work, not to be a full time tutor to an (obviously incompetent) novice. The Bangladeshi “engineer” could not even do basic trigonometry and was asking the Americans how to do that. His resume claimed extensive experience with design software, which he couldn’t operate at all. Bangladesh -by the way- is so backward and the people there so useless that the nation of India has built a fence to keep inept Bangladeshis from invading their country.

The 50 Year Old Baby

A fat, bald Middle Eastern man got a job at a small company. He was hired and expected to learn some new software. While White engineers hired about the same time, learned the software quickly and hit the ground running, the 50 year old baby kept badgering the White engineers to tutor him over and over. He appeared completely incapable of using online tutorials, manuals or even the “help” feature to learn anything. He ALWAYS had to bother White engineers and disrupt their work. At the first design review of his work, the meeting with the customer was a complete disaster. Numerous embarrassing mistakes had been made. After being on the job for only a short while, he started to drop the phony “nice guy” image that he initially put up. Like many Middle Easterners, he was completely two-faced. He viciously insulted a patriotic engineer by expressing his contempt for the US. The patriot told him off, and he went off sulking. Later he complained to the patriot that his feelings were hurt and he wanted an apology. The patriot proceeded to verbally rip him to shreds and he went back to sulking. The disruptions caused by this useless Middle Eastern lump of fat cost the company a small fortune.

The Peruvian Job-Stealer

One talented White engineer, who received a scholarship to go to graduate school, found himself competing for jobs during the big recession in the early ’90s against a Peruvian engineer. He knew of the Peruvian through a mutual acquaintance. Peru has no advanced engineering and the people there are lucky if they can prevent cholera epidemics in any given year. Still an engineer from this backward country was being given job after job because he was a “Latino” and therefore entitled to special privileges. The White engineer was shut out of at least three jobs, including one at JPL. It should be noted that the space probes built during the time this Peruvian worked at JPL, included a high percentage of spectacular and highly expensive failures.

The Indian Job Protector

Another White engineer reports that he got a job at a major corporation and was expected to learn some new software. An Indian engineer, who had been at that company 25 years, repeatedly refused to share information about this software. The White engineer had to learn almost everything on his own or from other White engineers, who learned the software despite the Indian. An engineer with 25 years should be qualified for retirement and should not be worried about losing his job. This Indian however behaved like he had only been at the company a few months and was deathly afraid of anyone else learning something he knew. Most White engineers freely share information and help other engineers learn, but Third World engineers are notorious for not helping others (in the rare cases when they have learned some unique software knowledge).

The Totally Useless Indian Engineer

This Indian engineer got an assignment that should have taken a few days. He stretched it out to three months and the work had to be completely redone by White engineers. There was a rumor that an Indian executive at the company had helped him get his job and was protecting him. On his next assignment he wasted an entire year and failed to produce a reliable analysis. All this time he was charging massive overtime. A new White engineer was brought in to clean up his mess and finish the work. The Indian withheld material and became extremely rude and arrogant. Eventually the White engineer was laid off for complaining too much about the total incompetence and intransigence of the Indian. This Indian “engineer” also fabricated analysis work on at least one occasion. Combined with the increasingly ignorant nature of managers in big corporations, the tendency of many Third Worlders to fake analysis is especially troubling.

Epilogue

The United States became a great nation because of the brilliance of our inventors and engineers. To pollute these fields with a flood of cheap Third World labor will do irreparable harm to our productivity and prosperity. We have seen spectacular failures by the space industry and the declining competence of NASA thanks to its devotion to quota hires. Our space shuttle fleet has stayed on the ground since the Columbia disintegrated in February 2003 except for one test flight, which was plagued with serious problems. The upcoming Space Shuttle flight is taking place despite protests by engineers (the same situation that lost the Challenger). There has been an embarrassing series of disasters among space probes as well. The only big success NASA could claim was when they re-used a landing vehicle design originally made for a 1975 space probe to mars. The 1975 design was done by White engineers.

The blundering of course won’t stop with NASA. Examples of incompetent blundering in civil engineering assisted often by negligent liberal politicians, include the failure to repair roads (billions of dollars in vehicle damage are suffered in New England alone), the failure to keep bridges maintained, the occasional meltdown of a nuclear reactor and accidentally switching a sewage line with a clean water line –flooding homes with sewage. America didn’t have these civil engineering problems in the 1950s and 60s when Whites dominated engineering. These amazing new blunders only seemed to arise as minorities were brought in as quota hires.
