States Get Tough on Illegal Aliens
by Jeff Davis
Ever since the passionate and outraged public reaction to the Congressional Amnesty Bill of last May and June, the politicians are finally becoming at least dimly aware that Americans are upset and enraged as they watch their country transforming itself into northern Mexico.
Some politicians on the federal and even more on the state level are finally realizing that there are votes to be won if they are seen as “tough on immigration.” State politicos are realizing that they can ride the immigration hobby horse on to bigger and better things. Most of them really don’t care about the issue. While the Founding Fathers were men of vision, modern politicians are petty, self-absorbed and very often clueless about what ordinary Americans want.
A recent news article reports “State lawmakers are increasingly stepping into the void created by the failure of Congress to approve sweeping changes to immigration policy, a new report finds. Legislatures have passed bills dealing with a range of immigration issues, from employment and health care to driver’s licenses and human trafficking - creating a sometimes uneven patchwork quilt of immigration law across the country… Arkansas approved a law barring state agencies from contracting with businesses that hire illegal immigrants. Louisiana has a new law barring the state from issuing driver’s licenses to foreigners until their criminal background has been checked. Oregon made it illegal for anyone other than lawyers to perform immigration consultation work.” Of course, that last one is to protect lawyers from competition. All the rest of us can have our jobs stolen by low-tech Mexicans or high tech Hindus, but not them.
The same article notes “More than half of the states have considered bills seeking to toughen or clarify laws related to driver’s licenses or other identification. Nineteen have studied immigration laws that would affect the ability of immigrants to find jobs.”
It seems like none of them are passing laws which demand that the local and state police ARREST illegals and IMPRISON THEM until they can be deported. This is what other nations around the world do when they apprehend someone in their nation without the right paperwork. This is what White nations did up until the liberals and elite politicians decided to let non-Whites flood over our borders.
The problem is not whether or not an illegal Mexican or Haitian or Filipino has a driver’s license or a job. The problem is that he is HERE.
The fact that local politicians are beginning to harass the illegal aliens is a good sign. If we deny them jobs or make it illegal for landlords to rent to them, then we remove their motivation to invade a certain part of the country. There is a building pressure to do something serious about illegal aliens. If we get a real patriot for president like Ron Paul, we might get rid of the “anchor baby” problem by changing the 14th Amendment.
