Spineless Democrats Approve Warrantless Wiretaps
by Jeff Davis
The 19 hijackers on 911 were all Middle Eastern men –many here on student visas. About a month before the 911 attack, George Bush got a warning that said: “Bin Ladin determined to strike in the US.” Amazingly Bush was able to get this warning without the warrantless wiretaps, which he continues to insist are so vital. Maybe we don’t need warrantless wiretaps. Maybe we need intelligent politicians, who take security warnings (and hurricane warnings) seriously.
The only problem back then was that the commander-in-chief didn’t do anything after getting a warning. He either knew the attack was coming and let it happen or he was so unbelievably negligent that he failed to deport Arab students, including the ones in flight school. The entire “terrorist” problem could be solved overnight if only we stopped allowing immigration from Muslim nations and deported the Arabs and Iranians, who have recently come here.
MSNBC reports: “The House handed President Bush a victory Saturday, voting to expand the government’s abilities to eavesdrop without warrants on foreign suspects whose communications pass through the United States. The 227-183 vote, which followed the Senate’s approval Friday, sends the bill to Bush for his signature. He had urged Congress to approve it, saying Saturday, ‘Protecting America is our most solemn obligation.’ The administration said the measure is needed to speed the National Security Agency’s ability to intercept phone calls, e-mails and other communications involving foreign nationals ‘reasonably believed to be outside the United States.’ Civil liberties groups and many Democrats said it goes too far, possibly enabling the government to wiretap U.S. residents communicating with overseas parties without adequate oversight from courts or Congress.”
Oh, well, so long as it’s only “possibly.” We all know, of course, that we can absolutely trust George W. Bush and his virtually certain successor Hillary Clinton to scrupulously observe all of our Constitutional Rights. (We do have some Rights still remaining, don’t we?)
Once again, why do we have to turn the US into a police state just so a few swarthy brown rug merchants can live here in America? That three hour delay every time we fly a plane and the ridiculous shoe inspections and the mandatory strip search if you utter one word of protest results from a terrorist act by 19 swarthy brown individuals who were let in by our PC government, which is so eager to spy on us now.
The MSNBC article continues: “The bill updates the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, known as FISA. It gives the government leeway to intercept, without warrants, communications between foreigners that are routed through equipment in United States, provided that foreign intelligence information is at stake. Bush describes the effort as an anti-terrorist program, but the bill is not limited to terror suspects and could have wider applications, some lawmakers said.”
Wider applications, eh? Now, what on earth might those be?
We get the idea. Those 435 yea-saying leeches whom the Constitution charged with protecting us against madmen and criminals in the Presidency have once again rolled over and played dead like the craven dogs they are. Is there anything that they will not put up with from this drunken midget and his little Jewish neocon friends? I mean, OK, I could understand something like this slipping through in the panic after 911. But that was six years ago, and we’ve all had plenty of time to take a good look at this gang of thieves and pathological liars who are running this country. Every Congressman in that domed toilet knows quite well what Bush is going to do with this power, and no one gives a damn. My guess: the Democrats went along with it because they want to make sure their girl Hillary has the ability to spy on anyone, she wants, unfettered when she gets in, so she can take her mad revenge for a lifetime of frustration and humiliation on the entire nation.
Remember Bush’s best friend, Alberto Gonzales, the son of illegal aliens, who rubber-stamped torture, illegal prisons and anything else Bush or Cheney wanted? Alberto has gone before Congressional committees and practically spat in their faces. Cheney leaked the identity of a CIA agent and gave multi-billion dollar no-bid contracts to his old company Halliburton and hasn’t been indicted for either. And Bush sits in the Oval Office and simply hands out pardons or commutations to any of his pals who –through some amazing fluke– get prosecuted and are about to go to jail. Need I go on? What is wrong with these linguini-spined suits in Congress? You’d think there was simply no such word as “impeach” in the English language.
