Slavery Reparations, Again?

Much like a vampire, who does not yet have a stake through his heart, the absurd and outrageous idea of white Americans paying “reparations” to every black man, woman and child now inhabiting the US, because their ancestors were slaves, has arose from the grave. The blacks simply won’t let it go. They all seem to be obsessed with the idea that one day they’re going to open their mail boxes and find the mother of all government checks addressed to them.
We have seen “reparations” in effect in Zimbabwe. Forget the fact that white farmers in Zimbabwe have endured malaria, tse tse flies and Marxist rebels to grow food to keep blacks there from starving for three or four generations. The Marxist government installed in 1981 has been taking farms away from white folks and handing the land over to blacks. The result has been disastrous with the entire population currently facing starvation.
If American blacks had been given 40 acres and a mule in 1865, a gaggle of Yankee carpetbaggers from New York would have swindled most of the blacks out of their windfall. The blacks who did attempt farming would have found it involved planning ahead, hard work and persistence. It’s doubtful they would have fared much better than their cousins in Zimbabwe.
A recent news article reports that [the reparations campaign] “….Has morphed in recent years from a fringe-group rallying cry into sophisticated, mainstream movement. Most recently, a pair of churches apologized for their part in the slave trade, and one is studying ways to repay black church members.” From sticking their hands into the collection plate, it’s only a matter of time before they stick their paws into the taxpayer’s pocket.
The same article notes “Reparations efforts have led a number of cities and states to approve measures that force businesses to publicize their historical ties to slavery. Several reparations court cases are in progress, and international human rights officials are increasingly spotlighting the issue.” In other words, a lot of Jesse Jackson wannabes out there sense a fast buck in the wind. “The most recent ‘victories’ for reparations advocates came in June, when the Moravian Church and the Episcopal Church both apologized for owning slaves and promised to battle current racism. The Episcopalians also launched a national, years-long probe into church slavery links and into whether the church should compensate black members.”
This is the same Episcopal Church that recently argued at its national synod over whether or not to admit an openly homosexual priest and to allow him to keep his catamite in the vicarage. That rumbling sound you hear in Henry the Eighth rolling over in his tomb. The Anglican denomination worldwide has now become a nest of degenerates, neo-Marxists, closet and not-so-closet queers and deranged self-hating whites. One wonders how the institution manages to survive; they must have driven off virtually every decent member and donor they had.
As if slavery isn’t enough, the article continues, “…in June, a North Carolina commission urged the state government to repay the descendants of victims of a violent 1898 campaign by white supremacists to strip blacks of power in Wilmington, N.C. As many as 60 blacks died, and thousands were driven from the city.” Since presumably there are no 120-year-old survivors of this anti-negro “Holocaust” in Wilmington to be trotted out, no doubt all of a sudden every negro in North Carolina, possibly even the stripper who claimed she was raped by the Duke Lacrosse team, will now be coming to the state government with their hand out claiming “mah great-great-gran’pappy was lynched seben times in Wilmington in 1898, no eight times!”
The blacks who were granted their freedom in 1865 fared infinitely better than their cousins in Africa. Many ex-slaves lived to their 80s and 90s (while their African cousins rarely lived to age 30). These elderly ex-slaves were interviewed about their lives as slaves in a government-sponsored survey in the 1930s. Most of these elderly blacks reported that they were treated decently during their time as slaves as long as they did their work and behaved themselves. Being made US citizens should be considered an enormous “gift” especially since few other non-whites were allowed to be US citizens for the next 100 years.
If we start including reparations for the victims of crimes, the blacks may find themselves owing whites money. The black population has killed about 50,000 whites over the last forty years while only about 17,000 blacks have been killed by whites. Rape statistics are even more slanted with black men raping white women at 50 times the rate that white men rape black women. Other crime statistics such as mugging and car-jacking are overwhelmingly crimes by blacks against whites. The big difference between slavery reparations and crime reparations is that there is no precedence in US law for forcing one race to pay reparations to another when there are no surviving victims (i.e. all the ex-slaves are dead). There is however a precedence for extracting payment when there are surviving victims. If the blacks want to keep bringing up the notion of reparations for slavery, maybe whites should start bringing up the notion of reparations for black crime.
One wonders how all of this reparations nonsense will work if the NAACP and Jesse Jackson scream loud enough and finally get what they want? What about blacks who are descended from the hordes of West Indian, Haitian, and Somali immigrants who have flooded through our open borders and who had no ancestors in this country in 1865. Will they get reparations? What about someone like Halle Berry who is half-and-half and currently making a fortune? Will her white half be legally compelled to write her black half a large check?
