Ron Paul Supporters Dominate Fort Worth Event
by James Buchanan

On-site reporter Jamie Kelso reports that Ron Paul supporters seem to be dominating the Republican Fort Worth event. About 700 to 900 people packed one meeting hall to listen to Ron Paul speak. Many of the competing candidates were notable by their absence. Hopefully the Texas delegates (who will be the ones voting in the straw poll) will take note of who made the effort to show up at their event and who attracted the most Texans.
Not only has Ron Paul demonstrated his popularity in yet another Republican event; a recent news article finally reports on the Ron Paul Revolution: “Passengers on a plane leaving New York could see three words in 4-foot block letters painted on an East Village rooftop terrace as they ascended: GOOGLE RON PAUL. The entreaty to search the Internet for news of the Republican congressman from rural Texas is one of the more visible signs of enthusiasm from a do-it-yourself base of Web fans. Their support doesn’t show up in public opinion polls, but it’s unmatched among presidential candidates in its passion. On their own, the fans have developed a Ron Paul Revolution logo, marketing the idea through YouTube. Message boards and websites debate his virtues. The Web fans for Paul’s anti-establishment campaign run away with online polls and blanket websites with caps-locked, exclamation-point endorsements of the contrarian Republican…”
The same article continues: “The supporters have an entrepreneurial drive and get their political news from Internet sources outside the mainstream media, especially blogs and news aggregators that rely on popular vote to determine news value. That same spirit inspires them to canvass parade routes in 100-degree heat, argue campaign strategy in two-hour meetings or paint the roof of a Manhattan apartment building… Paul’s message is gospel among his base, which Benton described as mostly old-school conservatives. Supporters can recite his talking points at length… A 28-year-old radiology resident, Knapp describes himself as a lifelong conservative who voted for President Bush in 2000 before growing disillusioned with the Iraq war and federal spending. Bush ‘did nothing but increase the size of government. The Republican Party needs to move back to its core principles,’ Knapp said. Many Paul supporters share Knapp’s disdain for what he called a ‘neo-conservative clique…’ ”
Ron Paul has attracted enthusiastic crowds again and again. Paul garnered 81 percent of the straw poll vote in Alabama and 73 percent of the straw poll vote in New Hampshire. Add to these successes, dozens of online opinion polls which invariably show Ron Paul winning by an impressive majority. One political pundit observed that “To know Ron Paul is to love him.” Anyone, who visits Ron Paul’s web site and takes a good look at his political program, can’t help, but be impressed.
Choosing a candidate can be difficult when competing candidates camouflage their real intentions. Almost every Republican candidate is claiming to be tough on illegal immigration and vowing to secure the border. Only Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo have a proven track record. Tancredo and Paul have been sounding the alarm bell on illegal immigration for years. Ron Paul wants to revoke the Fourteenth Amendment, which has caused the “Anchor Baby” problem. Giuliani made New York a “sanctuary city.” Mitt Romney did nothing to deport illegals as Massachusetts governor and supported a McCain-Bush Immigration measure in 2005.
Ron Paul will secure our borders, get our troops out of the Iraq War and restore the Rights which the neocons have taken away. It’s no wonder his supporters are the most enthusiastic!
