Our Government and Big Oil
by James Buchanan

If the US government actually cared about its own citizens, it would maintain a policy of neutrality in the Third World. It would buy oil and other natural resources at market values and encourage Third World nations to live at peace with each other. Through this sort of policy, the price of natural resources could be kept at a minimum. Americans would only be paying one dollar per gallon for gas. Sadly “our” government doesn’t care about US citizens. “Our” government will gladly sacrifice the lives of US soldiers in one war after another, benefiting only the major oil companies and certain Zionist interests.
Shortly after the first Gulf War, a news story leaked out that US soldiers acting under secret orders torched the Kuwait oil wells. One article reported “During the past six years, the American Gulf War Veterans Association has received numerous reports from veterans stating that US forces–including Navy Seals, Marine Force Recon, and Delta Force–were responsible for the setting of the oil well fires at the end of the Gulf War. One veteran has now stepped forward and given a detailed account of how he and others in special teams, moved forward of the front, behind enemy lines ahead of US forces, set explosive and incendiary charges on the well heads, and remained hidden until after the charges were remotely detonated and US forces advanced beyond their position.”
What’s the benefit of torching Kuwait’s oil wells? With the oil wells in Kuwait on fire, and Iraqi oil embargoed, the price of Texas oil was greatly inflated. Also, companies like Halliburton got the lion’s share of the contracts to put out the oil fires. One additional point was to further demonize Saddam Hussein as an “eco-terrorist.” (Notice that Hussein wasn’t put on trial for that particular crime for fear of revealing the fact that he didn’t do it.)
People like Bush Senior and Dick Cheney would rather see Iraqi oil on fire than allow Americans to get the lowest possible price for gas. That’s one reason why forces are at work attempting to keep us in Iraq forever. There are several key questions about the Iraq situation for which we will probably never get straight answers –namely:
Is Iraq currently producing all the oil that it can?
What percentage of Iraqi oil is being disrupted by “rebel” attacks?
Who is profiting from the sale of Iraqi oil and who is keeping records of these sales?
Is Halliburton profiting from oil supplied to our military as it occupies Iraq?
Is there a plan underway now to steal every last drop of Iraq oil while giving the native population only crumbs?
The Bush family has taken us to war twice with the secret goal of RAISING the price of oil. Bush Senior claimed that he wanted “the free flow of oil.” Nothing could have been further from the truth. Saddam Hussein had actually offered to increase the amount of Kuwaiti oil on the world market. This would have definitely been a much more “free flow of oil.” All we had to do was buy oil from Iraq and let Saddam keep the artificial puppet state of Kuwait. (A lot more people were killed in Bush Senior’s war of aggression on Panama, than by Saddam’s annexation of Kuwait. Unfortunately, once again “might makes right” and all the hypocrisy and criminality of the Bush Senior regime was airbrushed out of the picture. Kuwait -by the way- had slant-drilled under the Iraqi border giving Saddam a grievance against Kuwait, which the UN had recognized.) Clearly Bush didn’t want lower oil prices and his excuses for war were nothing but lies.
Of course, the Israeli factor is more important to our politicians than oil. If the Zionists want the US to go to war, it’s fairly certain we will. The interests of Big Oil and the Zionists call for one war after another against Middle East Muslim nations. The Zionists want us to keep occupying and oppressing these nations while the oil companies want a continual state of war to restrict the supply of oil and to raise the price. Until ordinary Americans wake up to this reality and start pressuring their politicians to end the pointless wars in the Middle East, nothing will change.
