Obama Campaign Wants his Critics Locked Up

Barack Obama

The San Francisco Examiner tells us that “KMOV in St. Louis, Missouri, is reporting that Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign is asking Missouri law enforcement to target anyone who lies or runs a misleading television ad during the presidential campaign. The report goes on to say that prosecutors and sheriffs from across Missouri are joining something called the Barack Obama truth squad.”

Who, exactly, decides what is “false or misleading?” If you disagree with a liberal on an issue, the liberal will often accuse you of lying. Liberals don’t realize that there is an absolute truth, based on facts. Liberals don’t understand a wide variety of issues, where the truth is “unpleasant.” For example, liberals refuse to admit that Blacks have smaller brains and are less intelligent on average than Whites. Liberals also have trouble with the fact that Gays are mentally ill, frequently-diseased individuals. (The US military still considers homosexuality a mental disorder. Homosexuality was classified as a mental illness up until 1973 by the American Psychiatric Association.) It takes a brave individual to admit the truth on certain highly-charged topics and liberals are too gutless to admit a great many truths.

The Examiner article goes on, “Look, politicians are all about lies. It may be annoying, but that’s for their opponents and good-government groups to counter — not law enforcement. That’s especially true since whether or not criticism is misleading is open to debate. What’s being said may be simply a different interpretation, a bit of spin — or a better version of the truth than candidates and their friends like.”

Welcome to the year 2008, six years after the Patriot Act and two years after the Military Commissions Act of 2006 along with dozens of executive orders and signing statements which have erased much of the Constitution. Imagine what will happen if Obama’s people get away with this. The obvious goal will be to make the opposition so fearful of being dragged to court or jail that they wind up saying nothing about Democrat opponents.

The Examiner pontificates: “Even if the officeholders joining the ‘truth squad’ are nominally stepping out of their official roles in order to put on their (political) party hats and play politics, it’s inappropriate. They wield too much power to use it to wag their fingers at people who say un-nice things about political hopefuls. Prosecutors and sheriffs are, after all, normally thought of as people with the clout to put their targets behind bars.”

It seems like the Obamable Snowmen are beginning the creation of a nationwide police organization to stifle all criticism and resistance to the Annointed One.

Back to the Examiner: “By the way, if the report is accurate, it fits all too well with the legal threats the Democratic candidate’s campaign is leveling against TV stations that run NRA ads critical of Barack Obama. John Lott, a noted economist and firearms scholar, has copies of the Obama campaign’s cease-and-desist letters on his Website. He also defends the content of the ads, emphasizing the debatable nature of misleading.’”

Remember that lawyer Philip Berg, who says that he has found relatives of Obama, who say Obama was born in Kenya. I’m sure Obama’s supporters would like to throw Berg in prison or maybe have an extraordinary rendition of Berg to a secret prison. Just because most people believe something to be true, doesn’t make it so. The “flat world” misconception was quite popular for most of human history. There should be a free and open debate about controversial topics including where Obama was born, and “NO” we can’t just assume that he was born in the US just because most people believe this and everyone -except Mr. Berg- has been too lazy to do any research.

We are supposed to have free speech in the United States and that means that ordinary Americans are supposed to figure out who is lying and who is telling the truth in politics. And while we’re on the topic of political liars, how often have the Democrats talked Americans into accepting one big government program after another while promising us; it won’t cost too much. The Democrats promised that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 would not lead to racial quotas, but that’s exactly what it did. If we’re going to lock up political liars, we should start with the Democrats, not their opponents.
