Illegal Alien Rallies Cause More Alarm than Sympathy
by Charles Coughlin

A recent news article reports “Thousands of supporters of illegal aliens gathered today in protest events in over 60 cities nationwide, but most left home a symbol that has stirred controversy with many Americans: the Mexican flag… According to Fox News, a protester at a large rally in Phoenix, Ariz., brought a Mexican flag to the event and was asked to remove it. Spanish-language radio had advised protesters not to take Mexican flags to today’s protest. The new sensitivity comes after immigration-reform advocates yesterday burned a Mexican flag on the sidewalk in front of the Mexican Consulate in Tucson, Ariz. They carried a sign that read, ‘Defending American Sovereignty,’ the Associated Press reported. ‘Anytime they take to the streets, we’ll burn a Mexican flag,’ Laine Lawless, director of the Border Guardians and organizer of Sunday’s flag burning, told AP.”
The large rallies across America by hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens demanding amnesty are not going to persuade ordinary Americans to join the open borders crowd. Instead, most people will be alarmed at the army of brown invaders in their home city. The illegal alien problem has plagued border states for decades. The problem has only recently spread to every major American city and become a serious nation-wide issue. Opinion polls have consistently shown over 80 percent of Americans supporting a serious crackdown on illegal aliens.
The illegal alien problem is crystal clear. Everyone knows the difference between America and Mexico. A flood of Third World immigrants will drag America down to the same backward status of Mexico. Most Americans have seen Mexicans and their neighborhoods here in the US. They don’t appreciate the noise, trash and over-crowded conditions, which are completely natural for most Mexicans. They don’t like standing in line at a grocery store behind a fat Mexican woman with a handful of food stamps.
Another huge issue concerning illegal immigration is the crippling effect an amnesty will have on our government services. Our National Debt is over 8.3 trillion dollars. The last thing we need is an additional 20 million Latinos and their relatives loading up our social services. Most illegal aliens are in the lowest paid jobs and therefore pay almost nothing in taxes. Their demand for social services however is huge. Many public schools have literally become overwhelmed by a flood of Latino children, many of whom don’t speak English.
Another news article reports “If an illegal immigrant amnesty or guest worker program similar to the ones being contemplated by the U.S. Senate and supported by President Bush were enacted, the cost to state and local governments would be staggering, an immigration reform group charged Tuesday. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates that state and local costs associated with illegal immigration for public education, health care and incarceration, now about $36 billion a year, would balloon to $61.5 billion by 2010 — a 70 percent increase — and increase to $106.3 billion by 2020. As a result of an amnesty and a vastly expanded guest worker program, millions of current illegal aliens would gain legal access to government programs and services, a FAIR analysis states. Moreover, newly legalized aliens would be allowed to bring their dependents to this country, adding to the burdens on schools and public health care. Similarly, state and local governments would have to provide for the education and health care of the dependents of the 400,000 new guest workers called for in the Senate proposal.”
