Hillary Portrays Herself as a Pro-Gun Churchgoer
by Jeff Davis
Before she becomes totally irrelevant (as if that hasn’t happened already), I thought I’d write another article about Hillary. The mainstream media is still pretending she can make up those 130 delegates she needs to tie Obama, but I seriously doubt it. It seems obvious the mainstream media is pretending the Democrat primary isn’t settled so they can keep reporting on it for as long as possible.
One of the more amusing things about the present extended Democratic primary is watching the incredible lengths of contortion to which Hillary Clinton will go in search of a single vote. This woman will do or say anything to win, and at times it’s downright funny. I suppose that’s about the last thing that can be said for our electoral system–every four years it forces these bestial politicians to make ridiculous public statements, dress up in duck-hunting gear and do the sorts of things, they must really hate to do.
According to the New York Times, Mommy Dearest is now posing as a church-going, pro-gun conservative in Indiana and Pennsylvania and North Carolina. If that isn’t sufficiently grotesque, I don’t know what is. The Times reports “Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton managed to co-opt Mr. Obama’s message of hope and optimism, beginning a speech in Valparaiso, Ind., by talking about how positive and fundamentally optimistic Americans are. ‘We don’t get bogged down and looking back – we’re always looking forward,’ she said, as heavy applause nearly drowned out her words. ‘Whatever obstacle we see, we get over it. Whatever challenge we have, we meet it. We’re the problem-solvers, we’re the innovators, we’re the people who make the better future.’ ”
It’s truly amazing how good politicians have become at saying absolutely nothing –and getting applause for their issue-evading rhetoric to boot!!
The Times goes on: “For the third time since Mr. Obama’s remarks were made public Friday night, Mrs. Clinton criticized him at length, saying his comments seemed ‘kind of elitist and out of touch. I disagree with Senator Obama’s assertion that people in our country cling to guns and have certain attitudes about immigration or trade simply out of frustration,’ she said. She described herself as a pro-gun churchgoer, recalling that her father taught her how to shoot a gun when she was a young girl and said that her faith ‘is the faith of my parents and my grandparents.’ ”
Oh, come on, Hillary! Surely you don’t expect us to swallow that? But then, who knows how dumb the average Democrat voter is. The one thing the American electorate has proven right down through the years is that facts don’t matter much, if at all. We no longer have elections in this country, we have extended versions of American Idol. And notice she doesn’t bother to say what her faith is. For all we know, there may be four generations of witches in her family.
Hillary is still the same annoying feminist; she has always been. Most voters just want her to go away so that they never have to hear her grating “nagging wife” voice again. She may pretend that she’s a church-goer and gun enthusiast, but few people are going to buy that. If Hillary really were a gun enthusiast, Bill Clinton would probably not be here today.
