Half of America Wants Bush and Cheney Impeached

Crazy Bush

According to Breitbart News, “Nearly half of the US public wants President George W. Bush to face impeachment, and even more favor that fate for Vice President Dick Cheney…The survey by the American Research Group found that 45 percent support the US House of Representatives beginning impeachment proceedings against Bush, with 46 percent opposed, and a 54-40 split in favor when it comes to Cheney.”

It should be noted this poll was taken before Bush pardoned Scooter Libby, which has outraged most Americans and sparked renewed interest in an impeachment.

An earlier poll by Zogby in 2005 shows 53 percent of Americans support impeaching Bush if he lied us into the Iraq War. This poll result is a little bit curious. Why didn’t 100 percent of Americans support impeachment if Bush lied us into war. Perhaps, 47 percent of the nation suspected that Bush lied us into war, but still didn’t want him impeached even though he technically could be put on trial as a war criminal in the World Court.

Okay, since this is a democracy, almost half of the American people want something, then Congress will naturally respond and at least take a serious look at doing that something. Right?

Sure they will. Now let me tell you the one about Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Breitbart goes on: “The White House declined to comment on the poll, the latest bad news for a president who has seen his public opinion standings dragged to record lows by the unpopular war in Iraq.”

Why should they comment? They know perfectly well that no one is going to DO anything at all about them or their behavior. The Dems are completely gutless –even with a majority!!

Breitbart continues “The US Constitution says presidents and vice presidents can be impeached — that is, formally charged by the House — for treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors by a simple majority vote. Conviction by the Senate, which requires a two-thirds majority, means removal from office.”

Think about this. George Bush has completely undermined every Constitutional protection of civil rights and civil liberties. He has imprisoned people including American citizens without trial based on un-Constitutional legislation such as the Patriot Act. Bush has allowed the use of torture in secret prisons around the world where people have been “extraordinarily rendered.” Bush has invaded a sovereign nation based on lies and killed hundreds of thousands of people. Bush has given billions in no-bid contracts to Halliburton and a circle of cronies. Bush has fired U. S. Attorneys who are insufficiently politically loyal to him. Despite all this, our Congress has failed to impeach Bush for treason or “high crimes.”

This begs the question: if what Dubya is not committing treason or “high crimes,” then who IS? Bill Clinton was impeached for far less than this, even though the process didn’t work and the cocaine-sodden Clinton hung on in office. So what’s the hold-up?

But Bill Clinton wasn’t acting directly in the interest of Israel at the time, was he? The Israeli Lobby wanted the war on Iraq and the occupation. Ahhhhh…comes the dawn!
