Feds Stage Token Raids against Illegals

Our immigration service ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which replaced the old INS post 9/11) is making some interesting token immigration raids, although I really would like to know how many of these illegal aliens, they bust, stay arrested, and how many are quietly kicked out the door of the police station once the TV crews shut off their cameras and go away. But what’s really interesting is they’re starting to bust some of the businessmen who are employing the illegals as well as aiding and abetting them in various other ways. The employers and enablers getting busted so far have been small fry however. The very large Hormel Corporation wasn’t charged or even fined over that big raid the Feds did in Colorado last winter.
Newsday reports that “Fourteen travel agency owners or employees were indicted on human smuggling and other charges, accused of selling airline tickets they thought would be used by illegal immigrants….The charges were connected only to the sale of tickets to undercover officers, but authorities said a record analysis showed that six travel agencies sold tickets to an estimated 6,800 illegal immigrants since mid-2005.” So much for the myth of the “poor” but honest immigrant sneaking over the border fence in a desperate bid to make a better life for his family. These illegals were sufficiently well off in Mexico that they could afford airline tickets to come into this country to steal our jobs and benefits.
Newsday continues “The undercover officers made it clear they were arranging travel for illegal immigrants and paid cash for dozens of one-way tickets across the nation, authorities said. The travel agencies offered advice on being discreet at airports, they said. ‘They were so blatant about it because they hadn’t been touched,’ Phoenix police Lt. Vince Piano said. ‘They would say, ‘OK, you need to dress them like this. You need to walk them in through this. Does he have an ID?’ Phoenix, 180 miles from the Mexican border, serves as a hub for transporting illegal immigrants across the country. Smugglers take immigrants to ’stash houses’ in Phoenix and make their travel arrangements. If immigrants are to be flown to their destinations, smugglers buy tickets and, in many cases, drive them to McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas because of tight security at the Phoenix airport, investigators said.”
ICE made another token raid in Baltimore on March 30th. Another news article reports: “Immigration agents arrested 69 people Thursday in raids on a temporary employment agency’s offices and places where it hired out illegal immigrant workers, including the port of Baltimore, authorities said. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents also seized a bank account containing more than $600,000 from the employment agency, Jones Industrial Network.”
We need to be hitting these DAMNED TEMP AGENCIES! Most temp agencies are an abomination anyway, because they make it possible for companies to operate with hundreds and sometimes thousands of employees for very low wages and without paying any medical insurance or other benefits. Plus the temp workers can be fired at will without recourse, and there’s a bottomless source of replacement droids where they came from. Millions of White American workers are stuck working as temps. Increasingly the low-wage temp agencies no longer bother to place or even interview White American workers as Mexicans take over all the bottom level jobs. This one temp agency was sending hundreds of illegals to work on the docks and at the Baltimore Port Authority. which of course does wonders for our national security.
The same article notes “A telephone call seeking comment from the company was not immediately returned Thursday afternoon. The employment agency’s offices downtown near the Inner Harbor were closed Thursday, with a sign in English and Spanish saying the company would not be open.” Good. We need to see a LOT more of those signs.
