McCain Gets within Two Percent of Obama in Gallup Poll
Barack Obama wants to “share the wealth around.”
by James Buchanan
A recent news article reports “Gallup’s traditional likely voter model shows Sen. John McCain within two points of Sen. Barack Obama, well within the poll’s margin of error. The three-day sampling shows Mr. Obama leading 49 percent to 47 percent.” With 18 days left until election day, this poll suggests that McCain is back in the running, and the threat of an Obama presidency is starting to alarm ordinary Americans.
It looks like “Joe the Plumber” and Obama’s “spread the wealth around” line have seriously hurt Obama in the polls. For a while, Obama got a huge boost in the polls when the stock market was plunging. There’s a natural tendency among voters to blame the incumbent president and his party for any economic troubles. There was just one little problem for Obama: The Stock Market crash was the result of the continuing subprime crisis which was caused by militant liberal organizations suing banks over “discrimination” and forcing them to make more subprime loans to minorities. Barack Obama himself filed one of these lawsuits on behalf of ACORN to force a bank to make more high risk home loans to unqualified minorities.
The mainstream media is trying to cover up the cause of the subprime disaster, but there are enough talk radio hosts broadcasting the truth so that Obama is getting the blame that he and his fellow liberals so richly deserve. Thankfully, John McCain tried to reform the subprime loan business in 2005 when he co-sponsored a bill to introduce some much-needed regulations. The Democrat-controlled Congress refused even to let the bill go up for a vote.
The “Joe the Plumber” controversy is proving a major pitfall for the Obama campaign. Obama could have listened to Joe’s concerns, but he chose the arrogant liberal path of brushing off legitimate complaints and making a flippant remark about needing to “spread the wealth around” which has woken up millions of Americans to Obama’s Marxist core beliefs. Barack’s plan to increase taxes on anyone with an income of $250,000 or more will cripple many small businesses. Obama doesn’t seem to realize that many small business owners would fall into this category since their gross reported income (before expenses) will often exceed $250,000 even though their profits are only a fraction of that. Millions of small business owners will be forced to lay off employees, quit their businesses completely due to diminishing returns or create a corporate entity in order to escape this proposed new tax burden.
