Obama’s Latest Blunder: Joe Biden
by James Buchanan
Prior to becoming a Senator in 2005, Barack Obama really doesn’t have much of a resume aside from “community organizing,” writing a highly self-promoting book and a variety of positions that looked an awful lot like quota-hire jobs. His most noteworthy actions as a Senator include sponsoring a Global Poverty Bill and voting for an illegal alien Amnesty Bill. (The Republicans could have made a huge issue out of Obama’s support for Amnesty, except for one little thing, John McCain co-sponsored that Amnesty Bill.) The Global Poverty Bill gives one the impression of huge amounts of taxpayer dollars being dumped into a bottomless pit. (At least McCain didn’t have anything to do with that.) That’s pretty much the highlight of Obama’s three and a half years in the Senate. Contrary to a popular misconception, Obama never voted on the Iraq War because he wasn’t a Senator in October 2002 when that vote was taken.
Obama’s first real decision as a leader -not counting his extremely vague campaign slogans about change and hope- was his selection of a vice president. To his credit Obama didn’t pick Hillary Clinton. If he had, I would be questioning his sanity and judgment even more. No sane person would want that shrill harridan following him around second guessing his every move for the next eight years, with the added stress of the Clinton Body Count hanging over his head as he wonders if his airplane might plunge into a mountain in Croatia, much like the last Black man to work closely with the Clintons, Ron Brown.
Still, Obama picked Joe Biden for his vice president. Biden is most famous for plagiarizing a speech from a British politician and talking about his imaginary coal miner relatives. This was enough to put Biden out of the running in the 1988 Democrat primary. Anyone Barack Obama’s age should have clearly remembered this (unless they were doing heavy amounts of drugs back then). Biden is also remembered for going bald and then getting hair plugs. Joe Biden voted for the Iraq War (later claiming that he was duped) and he voted for the Amnesty Bill.
Picking Joe Biden has reminded the average American that Barack Obama is basically a big government liberal. (more…)
