Biden Hints Members of Bush Regime Could Be Prosecuted

According to the Guardian newspaper in the U. K.: “Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said earlier this week that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November. Biden’s comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin. But his statements represent the Democrats’ strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.”
That’s definitely a nice thought, but we all know it will never happen. Bush and Cheney have done everything from lying us into an illegal war of aggression to approving torture to outing a CIA agent. The reputation of the US around the world has been severely damaged thanks to this criminal regime, but there seems to be a secret agreement never to prosecute an ex-president of the US. (more…)
