Race DOES Matter: Fatal Problems for Transplants
by Jeff Davis
The constant drumbeat one hears from the liberal media is “all the races are equal.” In fact some liberals say “there’s no such thing as race” or they claim “science ‘proves’ that race doesn’t exist.” Usually this nonsense comes from some delusional ivory tower professor who never sees garden variety Negroes or Mexicans during his daily routine. As with so much that the liberal media tell us, out here in the real world, things are a bit different.
According to USA Today, the parents of a baby named “Luke Do” are having a difficult time finding a bone marrow donor for his leukemia. Why? Because he is of mixed race. Not just mixed race, but mixed Oriental “heritage.” The article notes “The hopes of his parents, both doctors in San Jose, Calif., immediately turned to a bone marrow transplant, but they soon learned some distressing news — Luke’s ethnic heritage made him a tough match. Sarah Gaskins, Luke’s mother, has Japanese and European ancestors and his father, Lam Do, is Vietnamese-American. Because bone marrow matches usually are made with a relative or someone with the same racial or ethnic background as the patient, multiracial people rarely have success.”
One can imagine the liberals wailing: “But…but…but… there is no such thing as race. Professor Shlomo Goldberg told me so!! Race doesn’t matter.” Aren’t we being constantly told this? And if this news story is true, if mixed-blood people are going to have medical problems because of their jumbled-up genetic patterns, could this possibly mean that maybe, just maybe, it might not be a good idea to race-mix?
