Who Cares If Iran Develops a Nuke?
by James Buchanan
In a recent news article retired US General John Abizaid announced that it was not necessary for the US to go to war to prevent Iran from making a nuclear bomb. In a stunning display of common sense, rare at the top levels of our government today, General Abizaid explained that Iran would be deterred from using any nuclear weapons due to the threat of massive retaliation. No doubt Abizaid will be buried in hate mail from millions of Jews all over the world and every political pundit in America will bend over backwards to say how “wrong” Abizaid is. After all, this has been the standard operating procedure whenever any public figure says something truthful that offends the Jews.
If Iran does develop a nuke, there would be more of a balance of power in the Middle East instead of an Israeli nuclear monopoly. (It would still be a very lopsided “balance” of power in Israel’s favor.)
All we ever hear is the hysterical Hebrew viewpoint that this must never be tolerated and that we must all go to war against Iran if they get close to making a nuke. Many of our politicians want to make war on Iran for pursuing a peaceful nuclear energy program. Iran has large deposits of uranium, and a nuclear energy program makes sense for them. The US did not object to Iran building a nuclear reactor in the 1970s before the Shah was overthrown. (more…)
