Housing Market Causes Big Stock Drop

Dow Jones

The Dow Jones stock market took its worst plunge in five years last week losing 585 points (rebounding 93 points Monday then dropping 146 Tuesday) suggesting the economy is shaky at best. Once again the housing market was a big source of concern. Increasingly the housing market is beginning to resemble a Pyramid or “Ponzi Scheme.” Imagine a completely worthless stock which shoots up to stratospheric heights and then collapses. The last people holding the stock lose big time, but the people who sell up until the last minute make money. While houses do have some intrinsic value, a $200,000 house priced at $600,000 is two-thirds Ponzi Scheme.

According to Yahoo News, “Countrywide Financial Corp. said Tuesday its second-quarter profit shrank by nearly a third as softening home prices led to rising delinquencies and mortgage defaults among the most creditworthy borrowers. The huge mortgage lender was forced to take impairment charges as it braced for the possibility of more people failing to make their mortgage payments. Countrywide also said the market will become increasingly challenging as loan production subsides while lenders compete with one another more fiercely.”

In other words, the Great Housing Boom of the early 2000s is finally over, the free-fall is beginning, and a lot of these parasitic little mortgage companies you see advertised on TV and who send you spam e-mails all the time may soon be gone. (more…)

The “Devil” Made Her Do it

Is this the New Face of America?

We have been endlessly brainwashed to think that “diversity is good.” Curiously no proof is ever offered. Are we more prosperous? Are we safer? Is our evening commute shorter? Is the national debt smaller? Is my personal life better thanks to diversity? The answer to all these questions is “no.” Diversity has made almost every measurable part of life worse. Yet all our politicians and the mainstream news media keep telling us to worship diversity. An increasing number of Americans is realizing the steady invasion of America by Third World races is simply turning America into yet another Third World nation. Almost every day there is a new story in the news that argues against diversity.

The Dayton Daily News tells us: “Police on Saturday arrested a woman who said she had taken a baby to the devil, after she had allegedly left it in the center of the road. According to the Lebanon Division of Police, at about 2:38 a.m. Saturday, a motorist reported seeing a naked black female carrying a baby and walking in the roadway on Miller Road Extension, east of the intersection of North Broadway and Miller Road. The motorist reported that the woman had said she was ‘taking the baby to Satan,’ according to the news release. Officers responded to the scene and found the woman naked and with blood on her body, but without the baby. The woman did not respond to officers, except to say she had taken the baby to Satan and it was Satan’s child. The woman was identified as Shaunte R. Mitchell, 29, of 910 N. Broadway, Apt. 3, Lebanon. She was taken to Bethesda Medical Center at Arrow Springs for medical and psychological evaluation.” (more…)

FBI Building Huge Web of Informants

Randy Weaver Victim of Informant

ABC News reports: “The FBI is taking cues from the CIA to recruit thousands of covert informants in the United States as part of a sprawling effort to boost its intelligence capabilities… According to a recent unclassified report to Congress, the FBI expects its informants to provide secrets about possible terrorists and foreign spies, although some may also be expected to aid with criminal investigations, in the tradition of law enforcement confidential informants.”

It sounds like they’re implying they didn’t have any police or FBI informants before now. Anyone in third party politics knows different. Our government paid an informant to badger ex-Green Beret and white separatist Randy Weaver for over a year to saw off a shotgun just under the 18 inch legal limit. Then the Feds murdered his wife and son. That’s our government for you. Politically-motivated persecution of pro-white political dissidents is often disguised as a “criminal investigation” after FBI informants carry out an elaborate entrapment. That’s one of the easiest ways to spot an informant. They’re always trying to get people to do illegal things or to talk about illegal activities. Stay away from anyone like that!!! (more…)

Signing Statements Erode Constitutional Balance

Bush Erases Border with Mexico

Recently, the General Accounting Office studied nineteen instances where the president issued so-called “signing statements.” In such statements, the president essentially begins the process of interpreting legislation – up to and including declaring provisions unconstitutional, hence often refusing to enforce them.

The GAO study found that in nearly 1/3 of the cases studied, the administration failed to enforce the law as enacted. This approach is especially worrisome for several reasons.

First, these signing statements tend to move authority from the legislative branch to the executive, upsetting our delicate system of checks and balances. Next, these statements grant the president power not given by the Constitution, allowing him to usurp powers of the judicial branch. Finally, the idea of agencies refusing to enforce the law as enacted sets precedent for the type of run away administrative actions our constitution was expressly enacted in order to avoid. (more…)

How Can We Help Ron Paul?

Ron Paul

The Iowa Straw Poll is going to happen on August 11th. For basic information go here. The Iowa Straw Poll is the first significant vote in the Republican primary and could make the difference between victory and defeat. There is an entry fee of $35, but you get to see Ron Paul speak and if you’re an Iowa resident, you get to vote for him. (It may be good to register as a Republican before the event.)

Let’s say you can’t make it to Ames, Iowa, on August 11th for the straw poll. What can you do to affect the Iowa straw poll?

Thanks to the miracle of the cell phone and unlimited weekend calling, you can call up people in Iowa and encourage them to vote for Ron Paul. You can look up phone numbers in Iowa on:

Ron Paul Vs. the Liberals

Giuliani the Republican Front-Runner, I don’t think so

A recent news article reports “Republican Ron Paul trails two prospective Democratic presidential nominees in the United States, according to a poll by Rasmussen Reports. 49 per cent of respondents would vote for New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in the 2008 election, while 34 per cent would support the Texas congressman.”

Rasmussen has published several polls recently which have been more than a little suspect. Most of their polls show Ron Paul with only two percent of the vote. Why then would Rasmussen do a poll with a choice between Hillary and Ron Paul if Ron Paul -according to them- has no chance? Most likely it’s a less-than-subtle attempt to tell Ron Paul supporters to give up. That -even if they win the primary- Hillary will beat Paul in the general election.

Ironically, the news of this poll has actually energized many Ron Paul supporters. They know that only a minority of Americans are familiar with Ron Paul. Getting 34 percent against a big-name candidate like Hillary in a poll is a great accomplishment this early in the primary. (more…)

Globalism

By Rep. Ron Paul

Ron Paul

The recent defeat of the amnesty bill in the Senate came after outraged Americans made it clear to the political elite that they would not tolerate this legislation, which would further erode our national sovereignty. Similarly, polls increasingly show the unpopularity of the Iraq war, as well as of the Congress that seems incapable of ending it.

Because some people who vocally oppose amnesty are supportive of the war, the ideological connection between support of the war and amnesty is often masked. If there is a single word explaining the reasons why we continue to fight unpopular wars and see legislation like the amnesty bill nearly become law, that word is “globalism.”

The international elite, including many in the political and economic leadership of this country, believe our constitutional republic is antiquated and the loyalty Americans have for our form of government is like a superstition, needing to be done away with. When it benefits elites, they pay lip service to the American way, even while undermining it. (more…)

Bill O’Reilly Brings up Natalee Holloway Case

Natalee Holloway

Two years on, and the media still can’t shake their fascination with the disappearance of Alabama cheerleader Natalee Holloway in Aruba while on a vacation with her graduating high school class.

A variety of theories arose shortly after Natalee’s disappearance, including the possibility that she may have been abducted for a white slavery (prostitution) ring in the Mid East. One article reports “destitute Third World and Eastern European females as young as 12 are tricked into leaving their homelands with promises of wealth and prosperity in the West, as well as Israel. Instead, they are sold into the sex trade by organized crime, gangs, pimps and brothel owners. ‘Newspaper ads from modelling (sic) and employment agencies promise exciting jobs, but the women are duped,’ Malarek told the Jewish Tribune. ‘They must submit, or they are raped, beaten and tortured. There are between 5,000 and 10,000 trafficked women in Israel and more than 280 brothels in Tel Aviv alone…’ ” (more…)

Don’t Delay: US Out of Iraq Now

by Rep. Ron Paul

Iraq War 2

I rise in opposition to HR 2956 which, while a well-intended attempt to reduce our nation’s seemingly unlimited military commitment in Iraq, is in so many respects deeply flawed.

I have been one of the strongest opponents of military action against Iraq. I voted against the initial authorization in 2002 and I have voted against every supplemental appropriations bill to fund the war. I even voted against the initial “Iraq regime change” legislation back in 1998. I believe our troops should be brought back to the United States without delay. Unfortunately, one of the reasons I oppose this legislation is that it masquerades as a troop withdrawal measure but in reality may well end up increasing US commitments in the Middle East.

This is precisely the debate we should have had four years ago, before Congress voted to abrogate its Constitutional obligation to declare war and transfer that authority to the president. Some in this body were rather glib in declaring the constitution antiquated while voting to cede the ability to initiate hostilities to the president. Now we see the result of ignoring the Constitution, and we are bringing even more mayhem to the process with this legislation. (more…)

They’re Extending Combat Tours in Iraq Again

US Troops in Iraq

Memo to George W. Bush and Dick Cheney: If you’re going to start a war of imperial conquest to make the world safe for Israel, make sure you have enough troops BEFORE you invade. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “The Army is considering whether it will have to extend the combat tours of troops in Iraq if President Bush opts to maintain the recent buildup of forces through spring 2008.Acting Army Secretary Pete Geren testified Tuesday that the service is reviewing other options, including relying more heavily on Army reservists or Navy and Air Force personnel, so as not to put more pressure on a stretched active-duty force.”

Let’s see now. In order to raise the endless columns of cannon fodder necessary to fulfill the neocons’ ambitions, the Army and Marines have lowered enlistment aptitude and intelligence standards to the point where an orangutan could join. They have lowered moral and criminal standards until Al Capone could qualify as an officer candidate. They have lowered drug testing and drug-free requirements until our guys in Iraq might find themselves commanded by Sergeant Cheech and Lieutenant Chong. They have raised the enlistment age to 42. So a few middle-aged men who lost their jobs to down-sizing can now have an arm blown off while patrolling Fallujah. I can imagine these elderly recruits checking their pacemakers and taking their high blood pressure medicine before they charge the Iraqi insurgent machine guns. They have violated the Pentagon’s own guidelines by extending the standard combat tour in Iraq to fifteen months in country and (allegedly) twelve stateside…but now they’re fiddling with even that.
