The Neocons Conjure up More Lies

Can you really trust these two?

The neocon think tanks and certain collaborating talk radio show hacks have launched a new offensive just days before the 911 anniversary. The neocons have drawn up a laundry list of alleged Clinton-era failures and why not? After all, they have every right to criticize the Democrats. Their man, George Bush acted swiftly and decisively when he got a warning August 8th, 2001, about Bin Laden wanting to strike… —uh wait a minute. Bush didn’t do anything when he got that warning. He didn’t deport foreign students, not even the ones in flight school!! The Bush administration even classified that report so that they could hide it from the American public until Condi Rice had to admit its existence during questioning before a Congressional committee.

But then Bush has every right to point fingers at the Democrats especially after capturing Osama bin Laden so quickly and destroying al Qaeda –uh wait a minute again. Bush captured Saddam Hussein, who had nothing to do with 911. Bush still hasn’t caught bin Laden. With the resources of the most powerful nation on the planet at his disposal, Bush has failed to capture the one man whom our government tells us is responsible for the deaths of almost 3,000 Americans.

Not only is Bush’s record on terrorism badly lacking, Americans increasingly don’t believe the “official” 911 story. A recent Zogby poll found that 42 percent of Americans don’t believe the 911 attack took place as advertised. They find various conspiracy theories more believable than the tall tale about bin Laden plotting the whole thing from a cave in Afghanistan. The percent of Americans who believe the government’s version of 911 is virtually tied with the conspiracy crowd and the rest are undecided. (more…)
