Silence Of The Poodles

Words spoken years ago by George W. Ball, a distinguished diplomat, author and champion of human rights, have vivid, new currency: “When Israel’s interests are being considered, Members of Congress act like trained poodles. They jump dutifully through hoops held by Israel’s lobby.” In the same interview, Ball said, “The lobby’s most powerful instrument of intimidation is the reckless charge of anti-Semitism.” Sadly, his words ring true today, verified by my own experiences and those of many of my colleagues in the U.S. legislature.

Ball could have added that, except for exuberant praise of Israel, the poodles remain mute as they jump through the hoops, lest they lapse into free speech and say something that will spoil their chances for re-election.

The fear of being charged with anti-Semitism outranks all other worries that bedevil politicians, and the lobby has marketed it so efficiently that a wall of silence shields the American people from awareness of the lobby’s activities and U.S. complicity in Israel’s longstanding abuse of international law and Arab human rights, violations that the rest of the world follows with dismay and anger. Fear of the anti-Semitism stain is intensified these days, because the lobby has succeeded in redefining anti-Semitism to include any criticism of Israeli behavior, an inferred threat that prompts all major media to ignore or sanitize reports of Israeli violations…. Jacko Story Goes on

Albino Pixie Or Jacko?

The revolting Michael Jackson saga just goes on and on and on. The world seems to have decided that it’s time he was stripped of his estimated $450 million net worth, and now everyone wants a piece of “poor” Jacko. First it was assorted parents of his pre-pubescent boys trying to shake him down, and now all his former friends and employees are lining up for a piece of the Jacko pie.

According to an article in the Associated Press, “A former associate suing Michael Jackson for $1.6 million suddenly claimed on the witness stand Friday that he once was dispatched to help the pop star adopt boys in Brazil, but the singer’s attorney denounced the story as a smear…Even the lawyer for former Jackson associate F. Marc Schaffel said he was shocked when Schaffel blurted out the claim while being questioned about his background in the gay pornography business. ‘It was an effort to smear Mr. Jackson with a remark that could be interpreted to hurt him in light of the case against him last year,’ [Jackson’s attorney] Mundell said. Jackson was acquitted of child molestation charges last year in Santa Maria.” (You know, it must be hell being Jacko’s attorney. There are always more sickening surprises around every corner.) Phony Neo-Nazi Scare in US Military

by Jeff Davis

Neo-Nazis

According to a recent media article, “Neo-Nazi and white supremacist hate groups are taking advantage of relaxed recruiting standards to infiltrate the US military to get combat training….the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks domestic extremists groups, called on US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward white supremacist groups in the military. ‘Neo-Nazi groups and other extremists are joining the military in large numbers so they can get the best training in the world on weapons, combat tactics and explosives,’ said Mark Potok, director of the center’s Intelligence Project. ‘We should consider this a major security threat, because these people are motivated by an ideology that calls for race war and revolution. Any one of them could turn out to be the next Timothy McVeigh,’ he said.”

Potok offered no proof of any kind for this startling allegation, but then that’s par for the course with the SPLC. The entire article is possibly the biggest piece of nonsense to be conjured up in a long time. No one in his right mind is joining the US military right now. White supremacists would be doubly resistant to joining the army because the Iraq occupation is for Israeli interests more than anything else and the Jews are seen as the most tenacious foe of the pro-White Movement. Perhaps, the author hopes that pro-White rednecks are sufficiently dumb to volunteer to be cannon fodder fighting a pointless war in Iraq just to get “training.” Geesh. (more…)

Hegemonic Tyrant Courts Doom

Cheney and his handiwork

Finding itself in Republican sights and with no Democratic power center to offer protection, National Public Radio is turning into an upscale version of Fox “News.” Nevertheless, information still gets out if the listener is sufficiently attentive.

On July 5, NPR’s All Things Considered interviewed two warmongers for their views on the North Korean missile test. One was Ashton Carter, a Clinton administration assistant secretary of defense, now at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. The other was Ambassador Christopher Hill, an assistant secretary of state in the Bush regime.

The Clinton DoD assistant secretary is coauthor of a recent article advocating a unilateral U.S. military attack on North Korea. His first pitch on NPR was that the whole region, not just the U.S., is threatened by North Korea and that everyone should gang up on North Korea to make them behave. The NPR interviewer asked Carter to reconcile his multilateralism with his own recommendation for the U.S. to unilaterally attack North Korea. Carter replied that North Korea’s missile was developed to attack us, so we had to protect ourselves. (more…)

Belgium Cracking Down on Muslims

by Ian Mosley

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

The government of Belgium recently cracked down on some Muslims in their country. European sympathy for Muslims is at an all-time low after the recent Mohammed cartoon-riots so it’s a propitious time to go after them. Were the Belgians breaking up a Muslim criminal ring? Were they stopping illegal immigrant smugglers? Were they deporting radical clerics who were calling for jihad against the West? Of course not.

They were going after historical revisionists. Apparently all the complaints by ordinary Belgians about the unwanted immigrants mean nothing to the Belgian government, but the second any Muslims start telling the truth about the Holocaust (and offending the Jews), the police are sent out to round up the thought criminals. Efforts to stop revisionism are increasing and almost hysterical efforts are being initiated in Europe to suppress any critical examination of the so-called “Holocaust” or any questioning of the officially accepted version of the Second World War. The jailing of David Irving last year is apparently only the beginning of the oppression. (more…)

The Death of Western Engineering

Inventor of Transistor: William Shockley

Pat Buchanan wrote a book called the “Death of the West” describing the submergence of White civilization under a flood of Third World immigration. One of the greatest traits of Western civilization is its ability to make great inventions and triumphs of engineering. Most of America’s prosperity is due to a long line of inventors. Many Oriental societies have copied these inventions and more or less kept pace with the West.

Some fans of Asian immigrants hail their math skills and see them as bolstering American engineering. Nothing could be further from the truth. “Reasonably competent” engineers and scientists do not make a nation prosperous. Only brilliant, creative inventors can do that. (more…)

The Reality Beneath the Flag-Waving

by Paul Craig Roberts

Conservatives Used to Have Values

Americans who get their propaganda from Fox “News” or are told what to think by right-wing talk radio hosts are outraged at news reports that U.S. troops planned and carried out the rape and murder of a young Iraqi woman. They are not outraged that the troops committed the deed; they are outraged that the media reported it. These “conservatives,” who proudly wear their patriotism on their sleeves, dismiss the reports of the incident as a Big Lie floated by “the anti-American liberal media” in order to demoralize Americans and reduce public support for the war.

Playing to this audience, Col. Jeffrey Snow, a U.S. brigade commander in Baghdad, told AFP News that news coverage could cause the U.S. to lose the war. In other words, what we are doing in Iraq cannot stand the light of day, so reporters must not report or the word will get out.

Many Bush supporters believe that truth is not on our side and must be suppressed. Yet, they support a war that is too shameful to report. (more…)

Bush’s Assault on Freedom: What’s to Stop Him?

by Paul Craig Roberts

Cheney and his handiwork

On June 29, the U.S. Supreme Court in a 5-3 decision ruled that President Bush’s effort to railroad tortured Guantanamo Bay detainees in kangaroo courts “violates both U.S. law and the Geneva Conventions.”

Better late than never, but it sure took a long time for the checks and balances to call a halt to the illegal and unconstitutional behavior of the executive.

The Legal Times quotes David Remes, a partner in the law firm of Covington & Burling: “At the broadest level, the Court has rejected the basic legal theory of the Bush administration since 9/11 – that the president has the inherent power to do whatever he wants in the name of fighting terrorism without accountability to Congress or the courts.”

Perhaps the Court’s ruling has more far-reaching implications. In finding Bush in violation of the Geneva Conventions, the ruling may have created a prima facie case for charges to be filed against Bush as a war criminal. (more…)

Stunning Incompetence: 3rd World Engineers

by James Buchanan

Bridge Collapse in India

There is an illusion that Indian and Middle Eastern foreigners allowed in the US are -at least- competent in whatever scientific field they claim to know. Nothing could be further from the truth. Modern-day management wants cheap engineers, not good ones. Sometimes management will hire one or two good American engineers and then “supplement” the work force with several cheap Third Worlders. The Third World engineers frequently ask for less pay and so they get hired before White American engineers. The truth is they aren’t even worth the reduced salaries. Often, White engineers are only hired after months of blundering by an Indian or Pakistani. Sometimes a company just refuses to admit its Third World engineers are no good, and it begins a long downward slide to incompetence and bankruptcy.

Here are just a few engineer horror stories of Third World incompetence at US corporations:

The Lying Bangladeshi

One company had a wide range of engineers both bad and good. One American engineer who was excellent at what he did was increasingly badgered by a Bangladeshi. The Third World engineer had bragged that he was a top graduate of a “great” university in Bangladesh. The American engineer eventually had to explain that he was there to do work, not to be a full time tutor to an (obviously incompetent) novice. The Bangladeshi “engineer” could not even do basic trigonometry and was asking the Americans how to do that. His resume claimed extensive experience with design software, which he couldn’t operate at all. Bangladesh -by the way- is so backward and the people there so useless that the nation of India has built a fence to keep inept Bangladeshis from invading their country. (more…)

Anvil Ranch Map Illegals Pour Through Southern Arizona Ranch

In Our Backyard — If only McCain and Kennedy lived on ranches in southern Arizona

By Leo W. Banks
June 25, 2006

TUCSON –I know how to kill the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill and the illusions that inspire it. We need every citizen to spend a day at John and Pat King’s Anvil Ranch in southern Arizona. The experience would create an overnight revolution in America’s view of this domestic crisis.

The Kings live every day with barking dogs, vandalism, guns at their bedside, trash on their land, and most tragically, human remains. The bodies of seven illegals were found on the 50,000-acre Anvil last year.

“Can you imagine dying of heat prostration out there?” says Pat King, a 62-year-old former nurse. “It has got to be the most awful thing. I wish the two countries would get together and stop this. In this whole 50-mile area, there is no law. It’s a frontier.”… (more…)
