Iraq War Contrary to Conservatism

by Rep. John J. Duncan Jr.

(The following speech was delivered in the House of Representatives on June 16, 2006.)

Iraq War/Occupation

Mr. Speaker, I requested this Special Order to read a statement that I earlier placed in the Record during the debate on the Iraq war resolution.

I did not request time during the debate because it was obvious that the chairmen controlling the time, all good friends of mine, wanted only speakers who support the war, and I did not want to place them in an uncomfortable position.

I did not request time from the Democrats because many of my colleagues in the minority were using this debate in a bitterly partisan way. Surely, war should be the last thing that should become partisan.

Yet 80 percent of the House Republicans, including me, voted against the bombings in Bosnia and Kosovo when President Clinton was in the White House. I believe 80 percent of Republicans would have opposed the war in Iraq if it had been started by President Clinton or Gore, and probably almost all the Democrats would have then been supporting it, as they did the bombings in Bosnia and Kosovo. Feds Would Make Every Citizen a Criminal

There’s only one reason for having tens of thousands of laws on the books. The government wants to be able to use these laws to punish political opponents.

When the Indonesian dictator Suharto wanted to put an opponent in jail, he simply had his version of the IRS determine if the targeted individual had failed to obey every single tax law on their books. Odds were that the political dissident had missed one of the thousands of laws and regulations, and another political opponent was sent to jail without the stigma of admitting that there were politicial prisoners.

Both Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton had political opponents audited by the IRS as a form of intimidation. Clinton systematically targeted right wing political organizations for audits while NOT ONE leftist political organization was audited while he was president. (more…)

US Soldiers Keep Dying for Bush’s Legacy

US Coffins

The war in Iraq drags on and on and on. This could be George Orwell’s “war without end” predicted in his book “1984.” A few days ago both houses of Congress conducted an absolutely farcical “debate” on the disastrous Iraq war. The construction of four huge permanent bases and the mammoth US Embassy in Baghdad continues. The body bags and the flag-draped coffins keep coming back, although we are still not allowed to photograph them, and it is clear that the neocons mean for America to stay in Iraq forever. They do not care how many die.

A recent news article reports “The number of U.S. military deaths in the Iraq war has reached 2,500, the Pentagon said Thursday, more than three years into a conflict that finds U.S. and allied foreign forces locked in a struggle with a resilient insurgency. In addition, the Pentagon said 18,490 U.S. troops have been wounded in the war.” (more…)

Neocons Now Infiltrating Democrats

Old Hillary

The late, great DeWest Hooker once defined the Jews as “History’s greatest builders of trap-doors.” Whatever age or society they exist in, the Jews always build trap doors and escape hatches they can flee through if and when things go sour for the Chosen Ones, as they usually do. The Jewish neocons seem to sense that they have almost exhausted the utility of the Republican party in this country, and so now they are planning a comeback through the Democrats.

A recent news article reports “DON’T LOOK now, but neoconservatism is making a comeback — and not among the Republicans who have made it famous but in the Democratic Party…. This new crop of liberal hawks calls for expanding the existing war against terrorism, beefing up the military and promoting democracy around the globe while avoiding the anti-civil liberties excesses of the Bush administration. They support a U.S. government that would seek multilateral consensus before acting abroad, but one that is not scared to use force when necessary.” (more…)

Cops Can Kick in Doors Unannounced Legally

Waco Massacre

I bet you thought police had to announce themselves before they broke down your front door. Well, you’re wrong. The Supreme Court just ruled that police can break down doors without even giving a home owner a chance to answer. Naturally, conservatives are claiming that this will only be used against illegal drug labs and terrorists, but I’m not so sure. How long will it be before some completely innocent political dissident finds his door smashed down in a blatant effort to chill free speech?

A recent news article reports “The Supreme Court made it easier Thursday for police to barge into homes and seize evidence without knocking or waiting, a sign of the court’s new conservatism with Samuel Alito on board. The court, on a 5-4 vote, said judges cannot throw out evidence collected by police who have search warrants but do not properly announce their arrival. It was a significant rollback of earlier rulings protective of homeowners… Dissenting justices predicted that police will now feel free to ignore previous court rulings requiring officers with search warrants to knock and announce themselves to avoid running afoul of the Constitution’s Fourth Amendment ban on unreasonable searches.” (more…)

Will the White House Moron Bring On Armageddon?

Bush the Lunatic

John Bolton, a notorious neocon warmonger who could not be confirmed as America’s ambassador to the UN by even the compliant and corrupt U.S. Senate, got the job as a recess appointment. He is using the platform to push America into war with Iran.

Bolton told the Financial Times (June 9) that the Bush Regime has no intention of reaching an agreement with Iran. Time is running out for diplomacy, Bolton told the Financial Times. Iran has a short time remaining in which it can give up its right under the nonproliferation treaty to enrich uranium for nuclear energy or be attacked. Bolton said that U.S. security guarantees for Iran “were not on the table.”

There is no evidence that Iran has a nuclear weapons program. Every physicist knows that the enrichment requirement for weapons is many times greater than for nuclear energy and that Iran can barely achieve the latter. Despite the facts, Bolton told the Financial Times: “They’ve [Iran] got both feet on the accelerator, which is why we have a sense of urgency. Each day that goes by gives Iran more time to continue to perfect its efforts for mass production.” (more…)

Bush’s Top Advisor Karl Rove Escapes Justice

Karl Rove

Just a few months ago, it looked as though Karl Rove was certain to go to jail. The only delay was rumored to be that the prosecutor, Fizgerald was amassing a dozen or more charges against Rove that would fall on him like an avalanche. As the weeks passed, it became increasingly obvious that something or someone had derailed the justice process.

A recent news article reports “Presidential adviser Karl Rove won’t be a criminal defendant in the CIA (Valerie Plame) leak case, but he could still end up being grilled in court as a witness. Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald could question Rove about whether the Bush administration compromised a CIA officer’s identity to retaliate against a political critic. Still, Rove and the White House could breathe a sigh of relief Tuesday after the prosecutor told Rove’s lawyer he wouldn’t seek a federal indictment against the political operative. The announcement cheered Republicans and a White House beleaguered by war and low approval ratings, and if Rove would have been charged with any crimes, it would have been a major blow to the administration’s credibility.” (more…)

Duke Univ. Lacrosse Case: Black Stripper Lied

by Jeff Davis

Duke University

The liberal media practically fell all over themselves in a rush to judgment against three Duke University lacrosse players who were accused of raping a stripper. The implication was that White college students were no better than the Black or Brown criminals, who are convicted of committing the vast majority of rapes in the US. The stripper accusing the students of rape was Black further enticing the liberal media to portray this as some sort of hate crime.

A liberal Democrat district attorney in Durham, North Carolina named Mike Nifong was facing a stiff re-election challenge in his primary in May. He decided that he needed to kiss some Black butt, and so he seems to have more or less fabricated this case out of thin air. Nifong won his primary, riding in on the coattails of a liberal media feeding frenzy about “privileged” White college boys allegedly raping a poor defenseless woman of color.

Apparently it never dawned on the liberal media that a stripper might lie. One news article reports “Jim Kouri of the Post Chronicle has an outstanding breakdown of the demise of the Duke rape case. Mr Kouri points out that in the early days of the Duke University rape case, District Attorney Mike Nifong practically called the case a ’slam dunk’. According to court papers filed yesterday, a second stripper told police early in their investigation that the accuser was out of her sight for only five minutes that night and that her allegations were a ‘crock’. The statement was made by Kim Roberts, who accompanied the alleged rape victim to the lacrosse team party last March, was cited in a filing by lawyers for Reade Seligmann, 20, one of three team members charged in the case. According to the Associated Press, a March 20 statement written by a Durham police investigator, Roberts ’stated that she heard that (the accuser) was sexually assaulted, which she stated is a ‘crock’ and she stated that she was with her the whole time until she left.’ ” (more…)

US Military Blacks and Horrid Crimes in Japan

The old days of a White US military are long gone. Whenever someone hears the words “US military base” they suddenly envision large numbers of Blacks and Latinos, bad neighborhoods and crime. The modern US military doesn’t just spread destruction and death in Iraq and Afghanistan, they have become a major source of crime in nations like Japan. The Japanese people have suffered for over sixty years from the presence of the American military in their midst, on Okinawa and on the Japanese home islands as well. Japan is one of the few remaining homogenous societies in the world, and it seems that the most horrific crimes committed in Japan are done by Black US soldiers and sailors.

A long series of rapes by Black American servicemen has seriously damaged the reputation of the US in Japan (and around the world). A US military base is no longer a “good thing” but a source of danger to the local community. A CNN article reports ” Three U.S. servicemen were convicted Thursday in the kidnapping and rape of a 12-year-old Okinawa girl and sentenced to up to seven years in a Japanese prison. The verdict handed down by a panel of three judges — Japan does not have a jury system — followed months of protests against the U.S. military presence in Okinawa. In the aftermath of the crime, support for American troops in Japan has reached one of its lowest points since World War II.”

William Reese Jr.

U.S. Navy airman William Oliver Reese Jr., aged 22, was sentenced to life in prison for beating to death a middle-aged Japanese woman. It takes some effort to find a picture of Reese, who is yet another African American criminal in our military. The mainstream media has not run a photo of Reese, which is very common behavior when the criminal is Black. In the original story, there was a “give-away” to Reese’s race when they mentioned the name of his sister “Tieshia.” Often, small clues like that are the only way to tell the race of the perpetrator. Pentagon Admitted Zarqawi Was PsyOps Fraud

Two Different al Zarqawis?

There may have been an individual named Abu al Zarqawi, but it’s more likely he was a taxi driver than some great terrorist. One website notes “In an unusual twist, the Washington Post in a recent article, has acknowledged that the role of Zarqawi had been deliberately ‘magnified’ by the Pentagon with a view to galvanizing public support for the US-UK led ‘war on terrorism’: …The military’s propaganda program, according to the Washington Post, has ‘largely been aimed at Iraqis, but seems to have spilled over into the U.S. media. One briefing slide about U.S. ’strategic communications’ in Iraq, prepared for Army Gen. George W. Casey Jr., the top U.S. commander in Iraq, describes the ‘home audience’ as one of six major targets of the American side of the war.’ (WP, op cit.) An internal document produced by U.S. military headquarters in Iraq, states that ‘the Zarqawi PSYOP program is the most successful information campaign to date.’

The battle in Iraq has been and still is overwhelmingly against native Iraqis who don’t want us in their country. The whole story about foreign fighters in Iraq was massively exaggerated from day one. One article notes “The US and Iraqi governments have vastly overstated the number of foreign fighters in Iraq, and most of them don’t come from Saudi Arabia, according to a new report from the Washington-based Center for Strategic International Studies (CSIS). According to a piece in The Guardian, this means the US and Iraq ‘feed the myth’ that foreign fighters are the backbone of the insurgency. While the foreign fighters may stoke the insurgency flames, they make up only about 4 to 10 percent of the estimated 30,000 insurgents.” (more…)
