“They Killed Chef! You Bastards!”

South Park

For those unfamiliar, South Park is a bizarre cartoon which started out with a cult following on the Comedy Channel and has recently made its way to network TV. In each episode of the first season, the character Kenny was killed (reappearing in the next episode without explanaton). Each time Kenny met an unfortunate end, the characters Stan and Kyle would yell “They killed Kenny. You bastards!” Some episodes make hamburgers out of liberal sacred cows while other episodes have a nauseatingly liberal slant. The character Chef while frequently funny has unfortunate dating habits which would offend many Americans.

In a fascinating little Hollywood turf war, the weirded-out Church of Scientology cult has declared war on the frequently obscene and often deranged cartoon show South Park. Hollywood scuttlebutt has it that celeb Scientologist Tom Cruise got very upset with an episode entitled “Trapped In The Closet” which has some unkind things to say about him and fellow Scientologist John Travolta. In response, Cruise went into a sulk and threatened not to participate in promotions for his multi-million dollar sequel “Mission Impossible 3″ which is scheduled for release this summer, unless Viacom, which owns Comedy Channel and is a sister company to Paramount which is handling the movie, pulled a rerun of that South Park episode off the air. They complied and yanked the offending episode off the schedule at the last minute. (more…)

Three Fatal Shootings at Denny’s in a Week

Denny's

A recent news story reports “A gunman opened fire early Friday at a Denny’s restaurant, killing one man and seriously wounding another, police said. It was the third fatal shooting at the restaurant chain in Southern California this week. The 2:45 a.m. shooting happened after a fight between two large groups inside the restaurant, said Sgt. Rick Martinez of the Anaheim Police Department. One victim re-entered the restaurant after being shot and died inside, Martinez said. The other victim was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.”

Did Denny’s have a Gang-Banger Early Bird Special? Apparently, no. One shooting involved a crazed transient. The other shootings appear to be in bad, heavily minority neighborhoods.

Several years ago, there was a big flap about Blacks allegedly not being served fast enough at Denny’s. This -of course- led to a lawsuit since not getting your grandslam breakfast in a big hurry has got to be worth millions of dollars –if you’re Black. (more…)

Consequences of a War State

Neocon Warmonger Paul Wolfowitz

War consists of killing people and destroying property. That’s all there is to war. Any honest soldier will tell you the same thing: His job is to kill people and destroy property. That’s true of all branches of the service.

The difficult question is, When is a nation justified in making the decision to kill other people and destroy their property? I think the rule is the same as it is for individuals. You are justified in killing only in defense of your own life or the lives of others for whom you are responsible.

By that definition, the U.S. has fought only one justified war in this and the past century. That was World War II. Putting aside the fact that the U.S. government provoked Japan into attacking, attack it did, and the U.S. had a right to respond. We were not attacked, however, in Korea, Vietnam, Libya, Lebanon, Panama, Grenada, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan or Iraq. (more…)

Capturing Samarra Again

Iraqi Recruits

For the past thee generations, US military supremacy has rested on one factor: air power. From the last years of World War Two right up until the latest time we flattened Fallujah, America has always dropped bombs or fired missiles from the sky to decide a serious battle. The quality and quantity of American ground troops have steadily declined over the last few decades. A large percentage of US soldiers are Latinos or Asians, who don’t even have US citizenship (and sometimes barely speak English). Over the past three years in Iraq the biggest army in the Western world has been resisted by a ragtag Muslim guerrilla force who pose a sufficient threat to keep US soldiers out of most Iraqi cities and inside fortified desert compounds. This is why we have to keep re-taking various parts of Iraq because we aren’t really occupying all the cities all the time.

The Pentagon is now falling back on their last resort, a return to massive aerial bombing. On March 15th “U.S. and Iraqi forces” (read U. S. forces and a few bedraggled and bewildered token Iraqi kids stuffed into uniforms) launched what was termed “the largest air assault since the U.S.-led invasion, targeting insurgent strongholds north of the capital.” Uh, guys, you’ve been there for three years now. WHY are there still “insurgent strongholds north of the capital?” And why exactly can’t our soldiers get rid of all those “insurgent strongholds” with blazing machine guns in best Hollywood style like we expect back home? Why do you have to drop bombs indiscriminately on thousands of people, most of whom don’t have a damned thing to do with the Iraqi rebellion? (more…)

“V for Vendetta” Fighting Tyranny in the Future

by Jeff Davis

V for Vendetta

Andy and Larry Wachowski, makers of “The Matrix,” have now released their new flick “V for Vendetta.” It’s already causing controversy as “the first underground terrorist-as-hero movie” (Time magazine) and it will probably generate even more debate as it hits the theaters. Reviewer Peter Canavese commented: “…A divided domestic electorate will take V for Vendetta either as a kick-ass, future-punk primal scream of political frustration or as an irresponsible, literally and figuratively incendiary attack on our democracy when our approval-deficient leaders can least afford it. The rest of the world is considerably less likely to be ambivalent about a revenge fantasy of an individual rousing the rabble against the institutional elite.” Hey, that’s the best kind of fantasy!

The movie portrays a lone freedom fighter, never identified except as V, plotting to overthrow a tyrannical government set in a futuristic England by blowing up buildings. The hero is never seen, but wears a Guy Fawkes mask, thus hearkening back to the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 when the original Guy Fawkes sought to engage in his own form of participatory democracy by blowing up King James the First and the entire Parliament with gunpowder hidden in the cellars below. Is the White House Staff Losing it?

Anger Management Case

An article last October reported “An uncivil war rages inside the walls of the West Wing of the White House, a bitter, acrimonious war driven by a failed agenda, destroyed credibility, dwindling public support and a President who lapses into Alzheimer-like periods of incoherent babbling. On one side are the dwindling numbers of die-hard loyalists to President George W. Bush, those who support his actions and decisions without question and remain committed to both Bush and scandal-scarred political advisor Karl Rove. On the other side are the increasing numbers of those who say Rove must go and who worry about the President’s declining mental state and his ability to restore credibility with Congress, our foreign allies and the American people. The war erupted into full-blown shout fests at Camp David this past weekend where decorum broke down in staff meetings and longtime aides threatened to quit unless Rove goes. Insiders say Chief of Staff Andrew Card now leads the anti-Rove legions and has told Bush that he wants out of the high-pressure job. White House staff members say the White House is ‘like a wartime bunker’ where shell-shocked aides hide from those who disagree with their actions and office pools speculate on how long certain senior aides will last.” Last September a tabloid reported that Bush had fallen off the wagon and was dealing with his mounting problems by hitting the bottle. Bush’s frequent accidents, repeatedly falling off his bike and passing out and hitting his head during the Superbowl, suggest a possible drinking problem.

Working for a drunken moron is a high-stress job. After six years of a bloodstained roller coaster ride in a mist of Bourbon fumes and gibberish, George W. Bush’s White House staff may be coming apart at the seams. The endless string of crises would exhaust anyone. Over the past year there have been an increasing number of stories filtering out of Bush’s bunker of aides and administrators with drug and/or alcohol problems not to mention simple exhaustion-related problems such as falling asleep during meetings. The Next “Nazi War Criminals”

Iranian Leader

By this point in history, the world has pretty much run out of elderly eastern European men to arrest and torture for having been so-called “concentration camp guards”–unless they can convince people that the SS had ten year-old officers. There has also been a falling-off of “Holocaust”-related lawsuits through which the Zionists have stolen countless millions of dollars from various hapless Europeans down through the years. The last really big payoff that they got from the “Holocaust” was the Swiss bank shakedown of over a decade ago, when a consortium of Swiss banks shelled out an undisclosed but heavy sum.

But now a lawyer has suggested a whole new racket; one that will use the courts to shake down foreign governments for generations to come. A recent news article reports “A Rhode Island lawyer has pioneered a new legal front in the war on terrorism, turning to the collections of major American museums to seek compensation for victims of Middle East suicide bombers. Among the museums and institutions being pursued by David Strachman is the University of Chicago. He wants the university to surrender a treasure trove of ancient Persian artifacts to survivors of an attack staged by Hamas, the militant group that won the recent Palestinian elections. The request was recently sustained by a federal magistrate in Chicago. The reasoning was as straightforward as the implications are far-reaching: Supporters of terrorism should be punished. Hamas is partially financed by Iran. Therefore, Hamas’ victims should be compensated by confiscating Iranian property, making Persian artifacts in U.S. museums, such as University of Chicago’s Oriental Institute, fair game for federal marshals and a moving truck.” (more…)

NAFTA and GATT Paving the Way for Disaster

by James Buchanan

NAFTA Trade Deficit

Ever since the trade treaties NAFTA and GATT were enacted in the mid-90s, the trade deficit has done nothing but grow. One article notes “Most economists are extremely alarmed about the effect of the expanding deficit on the current account. In 2004 the deficit stood at $668 billion, or 5.7% of the gross domestic product (GDP). For 2005 we have estimated that the deficit was around $788 billion, or 6.3% of GDP… It is held that this increase in foreign debt cannot go on forever. If the Americans do not begin reducing their trade deficit, there will come a time when foreigners will become less willing to hold dollar denominated assets. This in turn will weaken the US dollar. Consequently, once this happens the United States will be forced to increase interest rates (maybe sharply) to continue to attract foreign investments. Higher interest rates in turn will plunge the economy into recession. In short, given the size of the current account deficit it is held that the US dollar has to plunge in a big way against most currencies, and it is not possible to avoid a painful adjustment as a result of this. It would appear that the trade deficit is a major economic problem that must be urgently addressed in order to avoid serious economic disaster.”

When NAFTA and GATT were being shoved down our throats, our politicians promised much lower prices for just about everything. They also claimed that the economy would be fine because the profits would stay here in the US. Years later prices were virtually unchanged for most consumer goods. The big corporations simply moved their factories offshore and pocketed the saving in labor cost. These companies spent millions to move their factories offshore. Are they really doing that just so they can pass the savings onto us consumers? Of course not, they did that to maximize their profits. (more…)

Discovering Columbus

Columbus Statue

Christopher Columbus has come in for a lot of flak in recent years from the politically correct, what with him being a dead White European male imperialist “oppressor” and all. Columbus-bashing has become a favorite hobby of PC academia. Today academic and scientific hit squads are hoping to “deconstruct” Columbus to suit their politically correct version of history.

A recent article reports “a team of genetic researchers are using DNA to solve two nagging mysteries: Where was the explorer really born? And where the devil are his bones? Debate about origins and final resting place of Columbus has raged for over a century, with historians questioning the traditional theory that he hails from Genoa, Italy. Some say he was a Spanish Jew, a Greek, a Basque or Portuguese. Even the location of his remains is the subject of controversy. The Dominican Republic and Spain both stake claims as the final resting place of Columbus, who died in May, 1506.”

The nagging “mysteries” are not very mysterious, but obscure scholars have always had to make up obscure issues and invent obscure conundrums in order to justify their existence. The Columbus controversy has “raged” among the dozen or so historians and academics who obsess over this sort of thing. Historians are trying to make a name for themselves by questioning the traditional theory that he hails from Genoa, Italy. (more…)

What the Indian Giver Got

by Patrick J. Buchanan

Bush and his master

Standing beside Pervez Musharraf, an ally in the war on terror, President Bush explained how he told him Pakistan would not be getting the same aid in developing peaceful nuclear power that Bush had just promised to India:

“I explained that Pakistan and India are different countries with different needs and different histories. So as we proceed forward, our strategy will take in effect those well-known differences.”

Bush was bluntly saying India is a democracy we can trust not to spread nuclear technology, but we’re not sure we trust you. After all, your boy A.Q. Khan was running a Home Depot for A-bomb technology.

Unstated message: We’re not sure any nuke technology we give you, Pervez, will not end up in an al-Qaeda madrassa. For there is no guarantee you will be around that long, Pervez, given your enemies have tried to kill you four times and elections are to be held in 2007.

If Musharraf feels he was asked to come through the service entrance and given the bum’s rush, who can blame him? (more…)
