An Interesting Proposal
by Charles Coughlin

A friend sent me one of these e-mails that gets forwarded all over the country. This particular e-mail smells like it was written by a neocon, but it had an interesting proposal. The e-mail suggested that we cut off all foreign aid to all the nations that didn’t help us in the war on Iraq. Considering that Israel didn’t help us, this sounds like a great idea.
Of course, condemning nations that didn’t help us invade and occupy Iraq would be like a bank robber condemning all his friends who didn’t help him rob the bank. The war on Iraq was obviously wrong (except for the still brainwashed Kool Aid drinkers). It was a war of aggression based on lies. A crooked cabal of neocons in the Bush administration fabricated false intelligence and dished it out to the American public and the United Nations. Colin Powell’s speech to the UN claimed the Iraqis were trying to get uranium from Niger. Ambassador Joe Wilson was sent on a mission by our government to investigate this. He determined that no Iraqis had sought uranium from Niger. His investigation was completely ignored and the top level of our government said the complete opposite of Wilson’s findings in their public statements before the war. Joe Wilson protested publicly and someone in the Bush administration exposed the identity of Joe Wilson’s wife, Valerie Plame, who had been a covert CIA agent.
Of course the simpering pro-Israeli apologists will say that things would have been worse if we brought Israeli troops into Iraq. By the same reasoning, just being allied to Israel probably made things worse for our troops in Iraq. How could the Iraqis ever trust us if we have an on-going alliance with Israel? To make the Iraq occupation successful, America should break off all relations with Israel and cut off all aid so that the Iraqis can see that we’re impartial.
If we weren’t allied to Israel, we wouldn’t be fighting all these wars in the Middle East in the first place. We also would not have been attacked on 911. The First Gulf War was meant to take away Iraq’s WMD’s. The paranoid Israelis didn’t believe Saddam was complying with post-war resolutions and their neocon fifth column in the Bush administration lied us into another war just to make sure. We have lost thousands of soldiers killed, tens of thousands of soldiers badly wounded and have squandered hundreds of billions to appease Israeli paranoia and to allow members of the Bush family to play Napoleon. Cutting off aid to the likes of Israel is the least we should do.
