Will Democrats Destroy the Economy Today?

by James Buchanan
Over seven million people have lost their jobs and more than 150 banks have failed since Obama became president.
Now, he wants to ram through a health care bill at a time when the economy is teetering on oblivion.
Obama is doing an “end run” around the usual procedure for passing a bill. Normally the Senate and House are supposed to vote on the same bill. The health care bill passed by the Senate is nothing like the bill the House is voting on. Obama is using some obscure loophole (of dubious legality) to try to pass a bill that could wreck the economy.
Tens of millions of Americans have been e-mailing and calling their Congressmen to tell them to vote “NO!!!” but once again, the will of the people apparently means nothing.
If a health care bill passes, it will force people to buy health care insurance, much like people are forced to buy (highly overpriced) car insurance with no effective system to make sure the public is not being price-gouged. The US economy is 70 percent dependent on consumer spending. If tens of millions of Americans are forced to pay insurance companies $1000/month (or more) for Obama health care, that will wipe out a huge percentage of consumer spending and the already shaky economy will collapse completely.
