The practice of the news media paying for stories, has long been an established practice in Europe and elsewhere in the world, notoriously so in Great Britain. The American media has always denied paying for stories, but now the truth is coming out in the Casey Anthony murder trial.

Fox News reports: “New evidence was released Thursday in the Casey Anthony murder case, including the amount of money she received from a television network, as well as conversations she had with other inmates. Anthony’s defense team told Judge Stan Strickland that she no longer has funds to pay for the trial. Her attorney testified ABC News paid Casey Anthony $200,000, but that those funds are now gone. Strickland is deciding whether to approve the declaration of Anthony being indigent, which would make the state pay for her defense. A transcript of conversations Anthony had with a fellow inmate was also released, stating that an Orange County Corrections officer may have facilitated the communication once the friendship had begun.” (more…)

The Obama administration has always been planning a one-two-three punch for its first four years. The first was “healthcare reform,” which we just had rammed down our throats. The second punch is so-called “immigration reform” to amnesty and legalize the 20 to 30 million illegal aliens now resident in the United States. The third punch will be gun control and confiscation to render the White population absolutely powerless. The second item is coming up fast.

The Washington Times reports: “President Obama on Thursday gave a thumbs-up to the framework of a plan to legalize illegal immigrants and create a flow of low-skilled foreign workers for the future, saying the bill being worked on by a Republican lawmaker and his Democrat counterpart is promising. The long-awaited framework, written by Sens. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, and Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, calls for illegal immigrants to be put on a path to citizenship”.

That is the deadly buzz phrase we have to watch out for here, “path to citizenship”. We also face a bi-partisan threat since many Republicans are whores to the big corporations which want cheap illegal alien labor, no matter what these backward, Brown immigrants do to the country. (more…)

The Philadelphia Daily News reports: “Lucille Hamilton paid $621 to have her ’spiritual grime’ removed by a voodoo high priest in an ordinary townhouse on a winding street in Camden County, a friend said. Hamilton, 21, a male living as a woman flew in on Friday from her home in Little Rock, Ark., to the house on Loch Lomond Drive in Gloucester Township, friends said, to take part in a three-day spiritual cleansing referred to on the priest’s Web site as Lave Tet. By Saturday night Hamilton was dead, and authorities are awaiting results of an autopsy and toxicology tests to determine exactly what happened. No charges have been filed.”

Is demonic possession a recognized cause of death in New Jersey? Geesh, we have transsexuals hiring voodoo witch doctors. I’d say we’re about 30 years overdue for a cultural revolution and purge.

The article notes “Although authorities have not called Hamilton’s death suspicious, her friends are eager to know what went wrong. ‘I’m still trying to find a scenario that makes sense,” said Billie Miller, Hamilton’s boss at Arkansas Flag and Banner, in Little Rock. ‘I can’t come up with anything that makes sense.’ Miller said Hamilton was a devout Catholic, with an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe tattooed on her foot, but was also interested in voodoo. She said Hamilton – who used the name Lucie Marie on Facebook – had been saving money to travel to New Jersey, but was not planning to undergo a sex change.” (more…)

An NBC Philadelphia article reports: “Wal-Mart officials are looking at security tapes after an announcement was made for all black people’ to leave a store in South Jersey. A man used the public-address system at the Route 42 store in Washington Township Sunday night and calmly announced: ‘Attention Wal-Mart customers: All black people leave the store now.’ ”

Believe it or not, there was a time when store owners could legally do just that. If a store owner decided that Blacks were shoplifting more than they were buying, he could put up a sign saying “Whites Only” or “No Blacks Allowed”. Imagine living back when people actually had control over their businesses and the Feds couldn’t micro-manage them. (more…)

The ongoing financial collapse of states and municipality proceeds apace. Now New York is delaying state income tax refunds. WCBS-TV reports: “For hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers, the check won’t be in the mail — at least not on time. New York State has stopped paying tax refunds and won’t start again until next month. The tax refund delay is part of a bigger cash crunch. Half a billion dollars’ worth of refund checks were put on hold last Friday, and state beancounters won’t start sending you your money until at least April 1. ‘I apologize that we had to do this. I hope it serves notice on the public of how serious our financial situation is,’ Gov. David Paterson said.’ ”

Somehow, I doubt if taxpayers will get any slack in paying their property taxes. If you don’t pay on time, expect some massive fine. Unfortunately, you don’t get to fine them when they send your income tax refund late. (more…)

The Republicans have been staying within their carefully constructed political playpen –the one which keeps them from going after issues, which unnamed censors tell us are “off limits” for polite politics.

Well, we just got our medical industry socialized while the Republicans were being nice and polite. Vicious unethical criminals in the Democrat Party just passed what-should-have-been a Constitutional Amendment that requires a two-thirds vote, with a bare majority.

There’s a way to derail Obama and his legislation before the 2010 election, but it involves showing some guts and not letting the liberal media dictate to you what’s “off limits”. The nuclear counter-strike that can kill off Obamacare is a no-holds-barred attack on Obama’s citizenship. (more…)

The U.S. House of Representatives voted 219-212 on Sunday night to socialize health care in the United States, making the government the paymaster of, and giving it sweeping regulatory authority over, the U.S. health care industry which represents one-sixth of the U.S. economy.

The legislation also enacts a dramatic and unprecedented diminution in the individual liberty of citizens. It does so by mandating that all Americans buy a government-approved health care plan while redistributing wealth on a massive scale by promising annual federal insurance subsidies to all Americans who earn less than 400 percent of the poverty level, which is currently $88,200 for a family of four.

Five self-professedly “pro-life” Democratic congressmen joined Stupak at a Sunday press conference to say that they would vote for the health care plan after President Obama promised he would sign this Executive Order dealing with the accounting mechanisms that will be used by abortion-providing, federally subsidized health insurance plans. Ann Coulter is turning Canada’s infamous hate crime laws against the very left wing establishment that created them.

The Vancouver Sun reports: “Inflammatory right-wing pundit Ann Coulter took aim at a University of Ottawa administrator Monday night, saying an e-mail from the school warning her to use restraint, respect and consideration when addressing Ontario students during a speaking tour this week made her a victim of a hate crime. Speaking to students and academics at the University of Western Ontario Monday, Coulter said the e-mail sent to her Friday by Francois Houle, vice-president academic and provost of the University of Ottawa, targeted her as a member of an identifiable group and as such, she will be filing a complaint with the Human Rights Commission alleging hate speech. ‘I’m sure the Human Rights Commission will get to the bottom of it,’ Coulter said to loud cheers from the 800-strong audience. ‘I think I’m the victim of a hate crime here. Either what (Mr. Houle) did was a hate crime, or the whole commission is BS.’ ”

Canada has some of the most draconian hate crime laws in the world. Even criticism of the government can fall into the cateogry of being a hate crime. So Miss Coulter is not really stretching things by insisting that the same hate crime laws that protect every flaming liberal organization in Canada, including the government, should be applied to protect conservatives especially if some liberal hack is trying to tell her to not exercise her free speech. Every once in a while Rush Limbaugh hits the nail on the head even though he constrains himself from delving into the underlying race issues. His response to the massive Democrat power grab is definitely worth quoting and commenting on. To be sure, there is a BIG racial component to socialized health care. County hospitals all over the southwest US were being hopelessly overcrowded and driven to bankruptcy by a flood of illegal aliens. This Democrat health care bill is not intended to help out needy White people. It’s intended to help the 30 million Latinos, who have invaded the US and their equally poor cousins who already have citizenship. Young White people will eventually find themselves taxed to the point of oblivion to support this crushing Third World burden. Imagine how much harder an impact Limbaugh’s response would have made if Limbaugh would only bring race up.

Limbaugh began his Monday program with, “Today, as we start the radio program, America is hanging by a thread. So we have to see what we can do with a thread. At the end of the day, our freedom has been assaulted. This is the kind of change that people did not think they were going to get when they voted for Barack Obama. Americans will be forced to pay insurance companies for overpriced coverage in the middle of a Depression.

Despite the loss of more than seven million jobs and the failure of over 150 banks since Obama became president, the Democrats seem determined to destroy what’s left of the US economy. A recent news article reports “the Democratic-controlled Congress approved historic legislation Sunday night extending health care to tens of millions of uninsured Americans…. For the first time, most Americans would be required to purchase insurance, and face penalties if they refused. Much of the money in the bill would be devoted to subsidies to help families at incomes of up to $88,000 a year pay their premiums.”

So basically the government is “giving” us health care by forcing us to pay for it. Americans were hit with a similar swindle before in the form of mandatory car insurance. State after state forced their citizens to buy insurance because the politicians just couldn’t bare the thought of uninsured drivers running loose on the roads. The insurance companies gained hundreds of billions of dollars in premiums, and gouged the hell out of consumers charging outrageous rates while the politicians provided no oversight. Then, to cap this swindle off, the polticians allowed in millions of illegal aliens, who are driving around our streets and highways with no insurance, proving that the politicians never really cared about drivers being insured in the first place. It was all a gigantic swindle for the insurance companies. (more…)
