4,000 US Soldiers Dead in Iraq
4,000 US soldiers die for Israeli interests and Bush’s legacy.
by James Buchanan

A recent news article reports “Four U.S. soldiers were killed by a bomb blast in southern Baghdad late Sunday, raising the death toll for American forces since start of the war just over five years ago to at least 4,000, according to the Pentagon.” Gee what a “lovely” Easter for four mothers; they’ve lost their sons for Bush’s legacy and because the Israeli Lobby wants us in Iraq.
Cindy Sheehan was right when she questioned whether there was any “noble” reason for her son dying in Iraq. Ironically, many Iraqi towns have been turned over to Moqtada al Sadr. Bush (stupidly) went to war briefly with al Sadr’s army, which was when Cindy’s son, Casey was killed. Does it make any sense for US soldiers to die in a place where it’s unclear if the natives are enemies or friends from day to day?
For anyone who drank the Kool Aid about the “surge is working,” another news article reports: “Rockets and mortars pounded Baghdad’s U.S.-protected Green Zone Sunday and a suicide car bomber struck an Iraqi army post in the northern city of Mosul in a surge of attacks that killed at least 57 people nationwide. The latest violence underscored the fragile security situation and the resilience of both Sunni and Shiite extremist groups as the war enters its sixth year…. It was the most sustained assault in months against the nerve center of the U.S. mission. The deadliest attack of the day was in Mosul when a suicide driver slammed his vehicle through a security checkpoint in a hail of gunfire and detonated his explosives in front of an Iraqi headquarters building, killing 13 Iraqi soldiers and injuring 42 other people, police said. Iraqi guards opened fire on the vehicle but couldn’t stop it because the windshield had been bulletproofed, said an Iraqi army officer. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not supposed to release the information.”
It’s still a meat-grinder over there. Attacks were stepped by rebels in response to visits by McCain and Cheney. Our best course of action would be to just pull out and buy oil at market prices from whatever regime takes power. Our presence in Iraq causes anti-American hatred. The entire operation is a failure except for Dick Cheney’s friends at Halliburton, who have made billions at taxpayers’ expense.
The American public had a chance to end the Iraq war quickly by voting for Ron Paul in the Republican primary. Unfortunately, either the vote was stolen by Diebold machines or the Republicans were so brain-dead stupid that they want to lose the 2008 elections as badly as the 2006 elections when they lost control of Congress over the Iraq War.
